any factions you avoid killing?
i'm trying to be a good guy so i only kill memebers of factions that are obviously evil, like Maelstrom, Tyger Claws, Wraiths and Scavengers
gangs that have good sides to them like Valentinos or 6th street, or corpo forces that are just doing everyday guard work i try to avoid killing as much as possible.

anyone else playing like this?
man, this game desprately needs a faction system so there will be some visible feedback/reward for avoiding needless deaths of different gangs

your biggest mistake is thinking that some gangs are better than others. when you do most of gigs/side quest you see that any of them are capable of doing most vile ♥♥♥♥ and any of them should be putten down to the ground

Completely untrue.
Most gigs involving tinos and 6ers is stealing something and hacking data

Gigs involving tygers sbd strommers is rescuing a hostage from slavery/torture or killing someone really evil

Counterpoint: Killing a hostage taker to rescue hostages that would have otherwise died.

Just off the top of my head.

Valentinos and 6th Street are the same Scum like the others.

When you analyse the crime spots or approach a spot, you will see how they execute people in a very merciless way. Just look the bodies all over the floor.

6th for example slaughtering a guy who made a mistake by repairing their car.

Valentinos basically execute people for just being too close to their hood.

I usually scan em, see what their crimes are. If it's something petty, I let them go with a beat down. If it's something major, I execute.

Only gang I slaughter on sight are the voodoo boys, I never forgave getting backstabbed by them.

CP2077 does not need a faction because there are no factions. The sooner people realize about this, the sooner we can move on. Also, topics like these are useless; stop trying to judge the world of Cyberpunk on your nowadays moral standards. They don't apply. You can't be a good guy nor a bad guy because the world does not care (also, killing somebody, regardless the crimes she might have commited, is unlawful on itself and not a "good" deed. No one has given V the powers to be judge, jury and executor. V isn't even a NCPD sanctioned bounty hunter, only the database injection Vik installs during the cyberoptic surgery allows V to see what crimes people has commited; not a lawful record onto the NCDP bounty hunting system).

Uh, there are certaintly factions and gangs.

Also if we're judging what power V has based on NCPD, If you kill people in Pacifica then your NCPD analogy falls apart.

Unlawful doesn't mean bad, it just means unlawful. For example, in some areas of the world, it's illegal to give water/food to thirsty/hungry people.

Morally this is a very tricky one as each faction or gang has it's own agenda and varies on the sliding scale of good vs evil actions. There are also good and evil characters in each, for example 6th Street are mostly patriotic vigilantes but there is one rescue gig where you find they have slaughtered a bunch of innocent prostitutes. On the flip side they obtain baloperidol to help cyberpsychos. It's way too easy to overthink motivation and method of the various groups in the game so I generally go with gotta kill em all.

It more-so shows how each major gang is split up into sub-factions within, Kind of like a government. There are likely sub-groups inside the gang that operate outside the Gang's usual policies because they think they can get away with it.

Mind you enlightening me on what are those factions I have failed to see in around 25 years running and playing Cyberpunk (the PnP roleplaying game)?

Also, I have made no analogy with the NCPD. V has a hacked access to the NCPD criminal records database (a crime on itself), not an official sanction by the law system. V is illegally hunting bounties and the place where she does is irrelevant (whether Pacifica, North Oaks or New York for all that matters).

There actually IS a faction system, it is just clears the lowest possible bar of entry just like most things in this game. In the beginning of the game, the non-scavvie gangers standing around on the streets are not hostile to you. Its only after you've killed their members somewhere in the city do they become hostile. Thus, there theoretically is a faction reputation system, its just barebones like everything else. I say non-scavvie, because in the very first mission you end up antagonizing scavengers.

I'm not sure it works like that. I've walked by random groups of scavs without being attacked. And after doing s bunch of missions killing tyger claws, I can still walk right past random groups of them on the streets.

I kill anything with a weapon excluding police unless they are inspiring.
