Standard pathing aggro rpg/shooter stuff. I would love to see actual tactics, but we're in the minority. The most we can hope for is a "SuperHardElite+" enemy would have better hearing, 80% weapon accuracy, could throw grenades not just at you but to flush you out to shoot you, etc.
See a lot of people are children, be they 8 or 88. They don't like "losing" - and any AI kind of opponent just shows how useless they are at yet another thing, a thing they like to pretend they're good at. It's depressing. And from a dev perspective, it's a lot of coding for something only a scant 0.01% want. Most want interactive storytime mode.
I really wish we had challenging combat on any difficulty, but it's basically walk towards you and fire on the way. maybe take cover. (they do what when you are holding a melee weapon too... watch out I don't shoot you with my katana!)
SO ANYWAY yes int / tech mastery is fun, especially if you're a stealthy netrunner, with plenty to drip into reflexes and cool as well, be you a bladed or assault/smg or pistol netrunner.. and you'll never worry about money if you take a few crafting perks in tech.
PS: you shelled out for a pandemic-prices nvidia 3080, go on, brag a little.
I think Intel/tech are the simpler ways to do Very Hard mode and fun way to play. I like to play it stealthy. If you are interested, I actually created a tip guide based on a build such as that.
Ultimately I think going with intelligence is a great choice and you can easily pair it with other skills depending on how you want to play/roleplay V
That being said, it's not fun to play 15 minute gunfights running for cover and healing myself every time i wanted to take a peak on the enemy. I gave up on Very Hard difficulty, not because of the difficulty, but because i didn't progress as fast. It was boring.
Some of the NPCs are extremely tough and even in the intro when leaving the garage i got killed by a follower in the van that followed me and Jackie Welles - a harsh introduction.
I found myself leveling faster in Very Hard than I did when I played normal. I actually did Int/Tech. After Intel/Tech were full, I mixed it in between body and reflexes. It is a cheap move, but the Tech attribute is good for boosting weapon types. You just boost the Tech weapons, then you can kill the enemy through walls rather than needing to stick your head out and be shot. If you are spotted, you just breach with Mass Vulnerability. If you were not able to tag all of the enemies before the fight. You can Ping to find their location.
