Cyberpunk 2077
Legendary Overwatch vs Legendary SPT32 GRAD
I gotta say, the price we pay for the silencer on Overwatch seems pretty steep now I'm comparing the two guns.
I've fully upgraded both... along with an Ashura and Breakthrough... and Overwatch seems to be coming in dead last. And I've got my sniper rifle damage stats basically maxed.

Lemme see here...

SPT32: +1539-1881 Physical Damage
Overwatch: +1000-1222 Physical Damage

Seems about 30% less raw damage. No change in Crit Chance nor Crit Damage, so equivalent to the worst of the Silencers. But there is something else too...

SPT32: +300% Headshot Damage Multiplier
Overwatch: +255% Headshot Damage Multiplier

So the Overwatch is doing proportionally less headshot damage too. Insanity.
The one thing Overwatch does seem to have in its favour is Attacks per Second. Being the loony I am, I've got both the Overwatch and SPT32 capped out with 4 Phantom mods each to up the rate of fire... which brings it to 0.36 APS for Overwatch and 0.33 APS for the SPT32. Not nearly enough to make up the huge difference in damage. And perhaps I shouldn't be using such things for Sniper Rifles.

And finally the deeps...
At least the way the game reckons it...
SPT32 : 813.8 DPS
Overwatch : 569.7 DPS

... not that DPS really matters hugely for a Sniper Rifle, but it is coming right out of the stats that the Overwatch underperforms on.

Oh... and just for the comparison, I'm getting 984.4DPS for my Breakthrough (I'll be honest here: if Breakthrough could be silenced, it would be beyond god-tier) and an utterly incomprehensible 1,145.9DPS for the Ashura (a smart sniper rifle is such a contradictory notion that I had to get one)... though I have those two specced out with Crunch mods instead of Phantom since they already have a far higher rate of fire than the Power snipers.

Anyway, I'll have to check for myself just how good that silencer is to find whether it is worth using Overwatch or not. Maybe what damage it does is just fine. Or maybe I should be re-speccing it with Crunch mods instead of Phantom. And who knows? Maybe I'll just get tired of it and go back to emptying out entire buildings from the adjacent rooftop with Breakthrough.

IIRC the big bonus from snipers (and the sniper-related perks) are distance (thr greater the better), standing (there's a Ref 18 or 20 Perk that's like 30% more damage if you're standing still) versus cover (several Perks for firing from behind cover but they're smaller but add up) and then the all-important head shot. I believe Ninjutsu also has a Perk for damage outside of combat?

Have you taken all of these factors into account because even the small percentages seem like they'd add up

I have the vast majority of the Assault (at least the non-cover ones) and Ninjutsu perks, along with most of the important Crafting perks and the Engineering ones related to tech weapon charge.
Ultimately though I'm just reading off the in-game display. I've not had a whole lot of practice actually firing the Overwatch yet.
I find either one is good, but I prefer the silenced one for obvious reasons. I can't remember the numbers but I don't think I have found anything they both don't one shot to the head and most times chest shot too.

My legendary Ashura does 4k damage at 27.

I gotta say I don't like the Ashura. It doesn't seem to really work as a Sniper Rifle, which is kinda self-defeating. It won't bust through cover like all the other rifles I use do, and it is kinda unreliable at extreme range, which is the best place to be using SRs. Still not sure why I still carry it around.
You have to delay your shot by a few seconds to give it chance to lock on, when you do "Boom! Headshot"

Edit: Or rather "no boom headshot".

Ah. Is that how it happens? Well whatever. I can chain headshots one after another with the other snipers anyway.
I'm still kinda convinced that Breakthrough is the best gun in the game. That thing is downright savage.
It used to be that Overwatch was well worth keeping and upgrading fully simply because of its silencer and ability to penetrate walls. You could ping enemies in their hangouts and pick them off one by one at a safe distance without anybody noticing a thing.

Now they removed its ability to penetrate walls, and thus there is no reason to keep it in your inventory. Straight to the wall it goes. Luckily the ordinary GRAD's still work.

Breakthrough is ok, but the aim shaking thing is a bit annoying. Even with the weapon mod that removes horizontal recoil, it shakes a lot when holding the trigger. O'Five is my personal favorite, I think.

Breakthrough doesn't have to be fully charged. It is sufficient to just release before it caps against most enemies. Even shooting them centre-of-mass.

I tried O'Five, but it seemed to be buggy as hell. The shots don't penetrate enemies the same way the other snipers do, and the explosions are inconsistent. I found the regular SPT32 much more reliable.

Anyhow, now I'm trying to figure out whether Stinger or my personally crafted Knife is better for throwing. Stinger piles on poison far more easily, but the regular Knife seems to have a fair chance for Bleeding too, and I've got perks pertaining to both (Ninjutsu for Poison, Blades for Bleeding).

I'm well aware of this, but.. I still find it annoying that it's even a thing. ;p
I use the Overwatch.

Considering that anything that I shoot at dies with the Overwatch, I'm not concerned with how it's damage rating compared to the other sniper rifles. I just use the weapon(s) that I like the most.

does the overwatch silencer work with the ninjitsu perk that adds damage to silenced weapons?

Seems to be. Still, it is 25% while sneaking. The silencer has lowered the damage by 30%. It still can't top the regular SPT32 on that front. Plus... I just confirmed the whole not-through-walls thing. Nuisance, that. I'll have to keep the Breakthrough on my person.
Overwatch is the most OP weapon in game.

Yes, it does lower damage then other weapons, and it can't even penetrate walls, but its still OP.

Its the only silenced long range weapon in game.

From the raw numbers it might look underwelming, but the raw numbers don't include the stealth bonus that you can get for shooting an unaware enemy.

It doesn't really matter how much DPS you have, as long as one shot is enough to blow a head of, and thats the case.

For all these open-field gigs in the badlands you can literaly kill every baddy without raising an alarm, just pop their heads one after another. Its outright unfair.

I hate to say it, but that hasn't amounted to much so far.
The requirement to have clear line-of-sight to the target is a pretty steep one, I've found.
And the silencer is nice, but I think I can honestly say that shooting enemies through cover is more OP.
I may have mentioned a few times, quite a few of the gigs that required me to kill my way through a building... I did just by getting to a reasonably high vantage point, pinging the enemy (so I could see all their positions), and then just picking them all off one by one with Breakthrough without even moving from my spot.
Yes, they could hear me.
No, they couldn't find me.

Like I said about line of sight. The only place where Overwatch can do the sort of things Breakthrough can do everywhere else. As I recall I was using the regular SPT32 for most of those, but it changed nothing. I still killed them through cover. Just lighter cover.
noob question : did you upgrade the original blue overwatch or made a new legendary one from the original ?

what about five o five ? guess this one not so good cause only 3 bullets in the magazine.
