I would say go hacker and Pistols and spend your first or second point in Tech so you can make Rare pistols and the other in increased carrying capacity. It's the build I like the most and it took me more than one playthrough to find it.

Also get Gorilla arms so there is no penalty for the Grad in a spare slot, you don't need to fight with them.

Pick whatever style you enjoy, as by mid game any build with any focus at all us going to make you OP on normal or hard.
Hacking is easily the most broken laughably overpowered build, but that can mean it also sucks the fun out of the game if you want any challenge at all.

i've been enjoying a sandevistan/fists build. you're basically the flash.

hacking will not be available though which is okay with me since it's probably one of the most boring non-action packed builds of all time (sorry).

I have to ask why you can't seem to come up with your own build, instead of coming here asking what others are playing. A little experimentation can be fun.
Asking for what people recommend and think is fun dosen't constitute me not being able to put a build together on my own.

First playthrough, I went with my usual "guns blazing" approach - or as Johnny says at some point, I just grabbed my hottest iron and kept firing till everyone else stopped moving. Towards the end I discovered how much fun it is to perch somewhere FAR away from the enemies and take them out with quickhacks. I LOVE seeing them scramble like confused ants, looking for me, when I'm either sitting on the roof somewhere across the street or outside the building and hacking them via the security camera system. Just gotta take care they don't track your location but you can figure out pretty fast how to avoid that.

Technical Ability and Intelligence are the best skills to invest in.

okay so i had the most fun with:
- blades build that includes throwing knives
- silenced revolver stealth build
- shotgun and lmg build

what i found rather dull:
- assault rifle build
- quickhack focussed build (damagedealing quickhacks)

the most interesting about hacking i found was to include it as a hybrid build but only taking environmental or stylish quick hacks (like suicide or cyberpsychosis, and things like whistle, request backup, blinding or deafen

i think the AI post 1.5 is pretty decent for shooting focussed builds. it still is wonky when playing a melee build or hacking. hacking i dont think the AI can handle at all. only recommended if you dont mind braindead ai and feeling like a god without actually doing something stylish.
