Why I Can't Get Into The Game...
I've been struggling with understanding why I can't seem to get into the game. I think I should love it. I decided to start reading some more reviews and I think I figured it out.

Who cares? Maybe this post will help some people figure out if the game is for them, or maybe it will help them enjoy it, or maybe like me they have been frustrated with the "meh" feeling. Maybe it will help them avoid it, until they are ready to enjoy it.

My verdict (short answer): It's every game I've already played too much, and had to quit.

My verdict (longer answer): I played Borderlands, loving it, until I over-played it, and became tired of it. I over-played Deus Ex, so very much until I grew sick of it. I played Strange Worlds over and over, different "roles" until I knew everything about everything about it, and can't bring myself to play it anymore. Have played every installment of the GTA, until there is nothing left to do or enjoy. Problem is - this game, feels instantly, like I've already played the entire game, and finished it (several times).

Hope: Perhaps, there are people out there, who are "still" playing the aforementioned games, and maybe they even spend hours just trying to find mods that expand story-time game play so they can keep playing one or more of those games - if that is you - then I suspect this game maybe a dream come true (instead of a "tired dream" as it is for me). Maybe, I'll distance myself from those games enough, and instead of playing them again some day, I'll play this again (INSTEAD), and it will be glorious.

Conclusion: You have played many games, go outside and get some fresh air.

For me, it's a story game.

Once I step outside of the story and go into the games' world, it gets dull. A beautiful game to look at sure, however outside of that there isn't much of anything in Cp77's world that interest me, because there isn't much of anything to interact with or partake in.

I like the secondary missions and stealth opportunities that the game has but I miss being able to play arcade games, mini-games and secondary activities for which the devs obviously didn't have time for. Being able to practice hobbies like in the Yakuza or GTA saga would have given the game a lot of life...
Again it has been all a matter of haste and priorities. Even so, I think that the hours of play it offers are more than enough.

If you play too many games all the time, you will eventually get a burn out.

Just take a break & look for something else you can do with your free time, like actually going outside & finding new & different hobbies.

Truth. I've been disabled and largely bedridden for 5 years now. As much as teenage me might of thought laying in bed all day every day playing video games sounded awesome, 40ish year old me is slowly going insane....
If you have the ability, go forth into the world and frolic, or whatever kids do these days.

It's like saying "why I can't get into this show/movie?" because you've seen similar shows/movies.

The game is fun and relatively, at least the GOG version, bug free except for the few minor visual glitches.

70+ hrs of gaming now and only 2 CTD. That is freaking stable.

For me, the game only got 'interesting' after I started treating it more like a murder simulator and less like an RPG. The 'plot' is ok I suppose but on multiple times through I find myself mostly doing side missions and just killing lots of people with different character builds.

Plus, and this is probably just me, the city itself is pretty great to just drive around in. It's huge and there are a lot of locations. Game really does look like something straight out of Ghost in the Shell or Bladerunner and there's really nothing else quite like it.

Probably helps that I never played any GTA games, so perhaps I can appreciate something that probably copies that a whole lot.

you got tired of open world games. Take a break from playing open world games, play some simple games like for me is cities skyline, then come back again when you are ready.

This whole johnny silverhand thing was a waste imo.

The rest of the game was good.

Johnny's story and flashbacks are the best thing in the game. But I respect your tastes.

Fair enough i just couldn't take his BS after a while, to me he was a tool and a terrorist.
He's an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, no argument about that, but after reading up on his background and especially the inconsistencies between lore and what we saw in the game about the bombing of Arasaka Tower - I highly doubt he actually was the one to plant the nuke and also, I just couldn't hate him anymore because I understood why he got to be the way he is.

The big problem with Johnny is that things work out mostly the same for the majority of...well...everything. So you see it once, then there's little reason to see it again. There are multiple endings, which I appreciate, but most of the times he chimes in with his 'opinion' it's just the same stuff you saw the first time around.

That, and you can see just about all the endings with just one save game by reloading just before the end. Maybe not all of them, I don't think, but most of them.

He mentions "the worst part about being in Mikoshi?" "They change you" outside the hotel bit. That might be a good reason for the lore break.
