The strategy is quite simple. Dodge their attacks and combos, unload a strong attack and a combo then pull back and wait for them to attack again. It's all about dodging, don't bother with blocking, those guys hit like a freight train. It takes a lot of patience but it's not impossible.
Yup. Made a thread about two days ago or something... right now i'm trying to beat Rhino without Implants or whatever and not only takes more time than doing like 5 gigs, it's also stupid how the animations are bad, they sometimes work sometimes doesn't so one time the enemy seems to be stunned yet a surprise punch comes and takes your entire life, the hitboxes suck hella time, the stamina regen isn't that wow even with consumables.
It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ system that there are only 4 things to do: Punch, dodge, block, parry. Yet two of them are completely bugged and never work. So it's only 2.
Still wondering how this hand to hand system came out like this.... do these guys even test out their games?.....
There's a few ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with them otherwise but meh, I can't complain too much from my last run through them on hardest difficulty when only the last fight was of any difficulty whatsoever.
About the Rhino fight and the one after that... well, two things: first Rhino should be a romance option and second, you need Gorilla Arms to even have a decent chance of defeating her.
However. yesterday I fought Oda and I thought it would be interesting take him on with a katana. And while I parried away a lot of of his blows and won.. the lack of feedback for blocking/parrying and attacking made it feel like a cointoss.
And the only reason I got so good a parrying and blocking was because of Bug's tutorial. And in my opinion, after getting used to it's quarks, it doesn't feel good. And Im not looking forward to the boxing matches for the same reasons.
The second one with the veteran with the crazy implants is perhaps the toughest one. The fight that's under the bridge, where you can make the guy add the sniper rifle to the bet. The trick to this one is getting a couple hits in, dodge (the guy will do a combo of either four or five moves), then hit him again, rinse, repeat. The major trick to these fights is that if you run around in a circle on the outer edge of where the fight is, you will almost certainly not get flatlined. Just make sure you avoid their attacks, and then hit them after they're finished.
The fight under the bridge, you will not be able to block the dude's attacks. He will just destroy you.
The parrying doesn't work every time for the other fights. I didn't have confidence in it, so I just never parried. I think the only time the parrying doesn't work, is before an opponents large attack. Every one you fight, they will have a special attack that's pretty much death.
V,s good but ... get some implants. Gorilla fists will destroy all four of them and you will just laugh at the absurdity of this post. Even on highest difficulty without melee skills.
You don't need to do that questline it's completely optional, never even started it myself.
The first fight I lost like 8 times before winning and was a little better the next one. So I'm saying I'm not good at dodging and taking my time. I didn't have any perks or anything for fighting.
This time I had gorilla arms but it still took a long time to win this last match. The thing I had done was put 2 points in the street brawler : Rush. This gives regeneration when hitting with melee.
So I was still bad and was going to lose but I just started kiting him and throwing a punch every once and a while. This brought my health back up and I could be more aggressive. He would hit me 1 or 2 times and almost beat me then I would regen it back up kiting him.
Hope this helps
