Weapons disappearing from upgrade list
Doesnt get boring with this bugfest. Second time on my current playtrough, that some weapons just vanish from the upgrade list. It means that these weapons will become more or less worthless, a few lvlups later.

So the only choice would be to reload a previous savegame, which in my case isnt an option and would require me to give up around 6 hours of playtime.

edit: Seriously, love the writing and stuff but I dont know how many times Ive to turn the other cheek and ignore this ....... mess. Im running out of freaking cheeks here.

Hmmm........done a couple of play throughs and I have seen the same thing. I just looked at it as the weapon could no longer be upgraded. Just a feature.......and just moved on and either found another weapon or just kept on using it. No biggie............

This is not a bug, once you can't upgrade the weapon anymore, it's will not be shown anymore.

Well it may be a "no biggie" for you, but it may matter to some folks, if your iconic weapon, like the Override which youll only get once in the game, cant be lvld up anymore. This can happen anytime in the game. Worst case scenario which also happened to me, is when they disappear early in the game so youve to pass on this specific weapon the entire game.

I pretty much doubt this. Ive decided to reload my save file and it shows up again and Im even able to lvl up further.
And why would it disapear before lvl 50 ? Wasnt even maxed out to begin with.

Same thing happened on my last play through with Johnny's pistol. I was at about level 42 when it happened. Other weapons once they are capped for my level just say Blocked if I can't upgrade any further. Same thing with Clothing items. Even if they are capped they still show in the upgrade menu. Started a third play through recently so keeping a close eye on things but so far in lots of hours of play it has only happened to one item.

I have had this thing occur to me. A little while into my playthrough, I thought I had dismantled one or more of my iconic weapons. I noticed that some guns were flat out missing from my inventory. I freaked out and reloaded a recent save, and they were there again.

This happened one other time when the guns were never deconstructed, and then it happened to the attachments for one of my guns. Also, I kept getting a HUD of a gun that I didn't actually use, in the lower right (where it shows the icon for the gun--it was a different gun than the one I was actually wielding).

I assume the bugs are related and the game is not reading the save data correctly.

upgrades are really expensive (mats) and not worth it imho.

The one I had trouble with didn't disappear from inventory it was only missing from the crafting upgrade menu. It was weird. I could still equip the weapon, fire, etc but couldn't upgrade.

Yup. Thats the whole point about this issue.
It makes the whole crafting system and the Tech-build worthless.

Well, depends on your playstyle. There are more than enough perks to reduce required components for crafting/get more components for dismantling items. Even on the hardest difficulty, youll get more than enough components to upgrade the hell out of your weapons.
The only downside is your always overpowered. Thats why I use difficulty scaling mods which will keep the NPCs on the same level like your char.

What did CDPR say when you bug reported? Or are they still out of office?

Not ever seen this myself, at least not until maxing out the level on an item. Funky stuff.
To be honest, Idk.
Since Ive found threads which are at least a year old with the exact same issue, I was under the impression, that people might have already reported this to CDProject.

Ah ok. Interesting - seeing a lot of old bugs reported again recently for some reason. I know 1.3 broke some old fixes, wonder if it's broken a lot more as they did the rework. If you've time, might be an idea to report it - if nothing else then you'll get a message back saying they're aware of it and you'll know a fix is in the works.
Will do. ^^

This is the only bug I have encountered in 300 hours of play that I would consider game breaking. I've seen some graphic glitches but nothing major. Happened on my last play through which was about a month or so ago so it was recent.

My view there is absolutely no point in upgrading your clothing items or weapons. I just use the armdedilo implant on clothing items (which massively increases the armour alot more than any upgrade on the item) and the increase damage most on the weapons.

Beg to differ. I took my Lizzie pistol with me for the grand finale, upgraded her to max level, popped a couple crunch mods into her and boy, was it worth it.
