Shower - Watch TV - Sleep - Use the computer, and now to Play Guitar - Smoke - Drink alcohol, tea, coffee - Light incense - Play radio, disk player. The apartments are just as much of an important element to my enjoyment as the rest of the game. Once again though, that's me.
The Glen certainly looks very good but sadly you cannot smoke or drink whisky in that apartment. I also like the incense burning as well.
The Japan Town one is worth it the others not so much.
Sleeping and showering gives you buffs for an hour. Plus some apartments have extra buffs for drinking coffee and such. The xp buff is super helpful for a new playthrough.
I don't use quick travel ever so they are a nice place to rebuff, put stuff in my stash (I always use a bike), and start/end sessions of play.
Also with a new play through since 1.5 eddies are handed out like candy and most stuff is cheaper, so the cost aren't really an issue.
Northside: Cramped single room in that motel where you rescue "Cheetah". Waste of money, IMO.
Japantown: Run down but full of (oriental) personality, in the same building as the codebreaker gig for Okada. No real advantages over the Megatower apartment but there are some new animations V can do there, like smoking or playing guitar.
Glen: Really nice double height loft. Great corner view with double height windows, includes a working coffee machine. Single apartment per floor. Direct entrance from the elevator without any door, so it seems insecure? My favorite of the bunch.
City Center. Fancier but with a worse view compared to the Glen apartment, and unlike that one it has a proper door. Also has a coffee machine and adds some stuff like tea drinking (does nothing).
None of the apartments have dedicated parking spots.
On the other side, each appartment has texts on their terminals which sounds like some hidden quests, didn't find anything until now, though. ^^'
I disagree with the online version idea. They need to add more content to the base game itself before anythingelse.
I wasn't aware of the buffs. Now I need to do more research.
They are nice and work clearly was put into them with the different styles and location they choose. If you already have the cars and equipment you like getting at least one of the apartment is nice.
Are they worth the money? No.
You spend most of your time on the streets doing missions anyway.
