If you have Tech. Selling the highest profitable legendary weapon also goes a long way.
So for now I make a profit of about 1500 €$ per weapon at level 41.
Method 1
You need high level Technical skill and "Edgerunner Artisan" to be able to craft legendaries.
At this point, go to a weapon merchant and buy craftin materials.
What you want to craft is either A-22B Chao or HJKE-11-Yukimura:
They each sell for 2870$ each.
Required crafting materials:
11 rare component, 11 epic component, 2 legendary component
(default requirements without upgrades: 20 rare, 20 epic, 3 legendary)
Buy their stock, craft, sell, then fast-forward 24hours to restock.
Easy money fast.
Method 2
Second method is a bit slower but it's perfect for perk exp farming too.
Go to Pacifica Pier. Enemies keep respawning as you go from one end of the beach to the other.
Im always glad after im level 20 in tech and don't have to waste any time on it anymore. Then it's just the story, sidequests, gigs, and exploring the city, and no other tedious BS anymore. Crafting selling and waiting is not fun. Especially with that inventory menu.
I also got myself unlimited crafting materials, so i don't have to loot every lousy enemy that drops a lexington or BS weapon. Now i just look if they dropped something special, if not i just don't loot it and move. The game is much more fun, if you only do the not tedious stuff.
It's a singleplayer game, we are allowed to do with it what we want so why not.
I'm currently at level 44 2/3rds of the way though the game and not having even tried to make a lot of money beyond selling everything over $100. I just hit $800,000 and have spent `$300,000 money of cars, cyberwear, guns and other random things.
It seems hacking really does make a big difference if that is what you aren't doing.
With all the hacking perks I am making about an extra 1 to 3 k per hack and some buildings have anything up to 10 of them.
Just to see how practical it is I did start making and selling guns and made about 200K in an hour of real time wandering about finding components and vendors to sell them.
It's really just for people 100%ing the game. I had a boatload of every time I go close to 100% and could do it purely as a random side thing without having to focus on it.
I am 100%ing it but the whole concept of the car achievement is off point with having to get the same models 2-3 times. Also you can't really compare yourself to casual players when having +900 hours in the game. Everybody should be able to make boatloads of money with that amount of playtime. Kudos tho
