Vehicle customization would be nice though. I have to use a mod to get a convertible, sad days.
I'd bet that it will be a thing one of these days, since they did just add character changes in 1.5. Still, it's a conspicuously missing thing in a game like this.
And there is a lot of variety of vehicles once you consider things like color or convertible/non-convertible. Even the motorcycles have a lot of variation in color or configuration even if the rim-glow is always blue.
I imagine that people's definition of 'a lot' of variety is probably different though.
Air shipping is a real and viable thing in cyberpunk.
I don't even know the interview
The problem with more speed is that the faster you go, the more it strains on the engine's asset streaming capabilities. Right now the vehicles are a LOT slower than the speedometer tells you, precisely because if they were as fast as they should be then the complaints about assets popping in, vehicles flying and NPCs doing T poses would be far more numerous. Seems to be a fundamental issue, caused by how "informationally dense" the world is, that they haven't fixed in over a year, so you will probably need to stick with mods.
If you don't see it its probably because you have the game installed in a fast SSD, but the game still needs to run for those with slower machines.
So you dont need to tune them anymore. How great that is, right? :))))

It's like the scene in the Matrix Reloaded where Neo is flying through the city to save Trinity, with a hundred cars just tumbled in a cloud in his wake.
To me that's the problem, the game constantly trying to prove that it isn't GTA yet including a lot of things that are already in GTA. Edit: What exactly is so wrong with implementing things from GTA that may improve the game for a wider audience?
Without hurting what's already there, mind you.
