Found a fix for that. Nahimic software, no idea what it is. but i do have a service with the name Nahimic name running. stopped it and it works.

So I figured it was an issue with old mods. So I did a clean re-install of the game. The game crashes as soon as I hit play. Clean game, mind you.

If you started out over 40 years ago on computers when you had to pull out your video and memory cards to flip dip switches and configure auto exec and bat files for every different thing you loaded up, you would know the benefit of "plug and play". Not perfect by any means, but, you really dont want to go back to what it was before.

My first computer was a c64 with a data set. The floppy drive came out a year later.

Started with MSX but switched to Amiga later, the autoconf worked very well on that: it did "plug'n play" before the term was trendy..

Sort of have a related issue: when I launch the steam client, it says CP2077 is running (which it is not). It even hold sup the Steam client from exiting and I am unable to uninstall the game or go offline to get around this. Any thoughts by chance?
