Iconic Sniper Rifle Breakthrough and Iconic Pistol Kongou: Am I Missing Something Here?
The gimmick that the Breakthrough has (iconic Nekomata tech sniper) is that not only does it retain the perk of tech weapons normally being able to shoot through walls, the projectiles also ricochet.

Except I have no idea how to actually proc that ricochet on the Breakthrough.

I've tried using the Breakthrough with the two cyberware pieces needed for power weapon ricochets hoping that it would let me ricochet with it, but I can't see the ricochet pathway at all, I guess since it's a tech weapon so even though it can ricochet the cyberware doesn't affect it. I've tried just firing it at enemies, but it just pierces through them like normal. Firing at the feet of enemies doesn't bounce the shot up into them, it just goes straight into the floor.

The gimmick of the Kongou is that you supposedly don't need power weapon cyberware to make use of the power weapon class gimmick, which is ricochet bullets. But as far as I can tell, you actually DO need to have the power weapon cyberware to make use of it contrary to the description, cause you can't see the ricochet trajectory without them.

What am I doing wrong?

Both are crap weapons, so probably nobody cares. The ricochet feature is so utterly pointless anyways.
Hahaha "Breakthrough" best weapon in game, does 1,700,000+ damage at maximum difficulty and that's not the limit!

It...really isn't. A legendary Nekomata can have over a 6x crit multiplier. The Breakthrough maxes out at like, 4x.

Comrades Hammer does over 6mil easy with an explosive round that kills everything nearby like a grenade.

But the actual best weapon is the Satori as you can do an absurd amount of damage with it without reloading or aiming cause it's a sword. You can kill every single enemy in the game before your Sandevistan runs out making it literally impossible to die to enemies.
Sry, i meant ONE OF the best! :) Satori is my favourite! ;)

I did under three million damage, maybe more. I didn't particularly focus on the numbers.

I have about 100 hours played, 2 complete playthroughs and several others in various stages of completion, with various builds. Not once did I use the ricochet, not even to test it out. I may actually give it a shot today just to see the effect. But as other stated between tech allowing you to shoot through the obstacle and smart link allowing you to home projectiles over the obstacle the ricochet feature feels a bit obsolete. I mean sure, it's nice as an option but would need a serious damage boost to make me replace the other two.

As you can see from the screenshots of character development, the damage can be increased much higher..

Yet anything above 10k damage tends to be enough to "one shot" virtually everything, so the difference between 4M or 6M damage is worthless during actual gameplay, unless you're purely after the e-peen boast of "I have the highest number".
