Bought the game, loving it , but GoG ?

Everytime i fire up the game i get a request to open an account on gog
but unless it's actually benefitial to the game or gives me stuff ingame
that i could use, like cool outfits etc etc , i often don't sign up with a 3rd party
if there's an option.. i buy my games from steam and that's it pretty much.

So.. is it worth signing up for gog ?.

If you can ignore it, ignore it. You won't get any additional benefits. I do have the game on Gog because 1) 100% of the money went to CDP group and 2) GoG is simply awesome. DRM-free games, offline installers, old games that actually work on modern systems. There's no excuse for older gamers who are occasionally hit by nostalgia to not have a Gog account.

Pretty sure the release cosmetic/starting items become available if you link through GOG? I didn't pre-order and got the wolf jacket and unicorn katana etc. that way but not 100% sure if it still applies.

Supporting CDPR by using gog should be reconsidered after the devs failed to deliver on what they promised.

For the CP2077 I don't think so. However checkout their store: games over there are DRM-free, you can download the game installer backups and you are not forced to update to the latest version of the game as well as you always can roll back to whatever version you want (for example I rolled back my CP2077 to 1.07 since after that patch they completely nerfed netrunners, however on the other hand I do not get any of the bugs in game (well, except occasionally I can see somebody driving in their car in a T-pose)).

what is most amusing to me is that you generally see a lot of posts on the steam forums of people lamenting games having drm. They still continue to buy games through steam though even if a drm free version of a game pops up on GoG.
