Playing Blades
Is this a thing? Enemies just kill me before i can get in range. Well actually i take one or two down while everyone else is shooting in my back.

There has got to be a way... Right?

More hp, more armor, getting the cyberware to slow down time for you and - most importent - don't rush them mindlessly. Enemies can't shoot through walls. Don't just charge into open space. Attack people who hide behind cover first, since you'll be in cover too from most other attacks. Try to run a way that blocks line fo sight to other enemies. Don't rush in groups, lure them behind a corner (sometimes they follow you like lemmings xD).
Use some food and drugs to boost your hp.
Later on you are strong enough to one-hit amost everything and with enough perks and armor you'll get durable enough to feel godlike, it's just a little way to go.

Use the healing overtime consumable, move like a mad man, use heavy attacks a lot. I don't like slow time at all, but it is op. By the time you get lots of armour and other sources of healing, you will be very hard to kill.

This is not fun. I spend more time loading my games than actually fighting.

Blades takes a lot skill without Rare or better Sandevistan and/or Stealth perks and/or high Armor and Body.

Low level swords, you're going to have a hard time not getting lit up when you close gaps, you have to use the terrain to your advantage or sneak a lot.

Sandevistan ... I think i got mods for that, but i don't remember seeing the thing it mods on. I bought some armor, mainly because i didn't like the looks, it helped. For doing world events anyway. It should be good practice.

Yeah some play styles are harder than others (until you learn the tricks/mechanics)
For 2 play throughs I just wanted to use my fists. Almost gave up but this last play through, I could almost run around naked and win against mobs.
Still very hard in some missions but doable.

Just watch how the mobs move, hide often and let them come to you I find.

Melee playstyle is a slow start, especially on higher difficulties. But you're pretty much unstoppable from mid-game onward. I basically just stealth as much of act 1 as possible with my blades character. Once you open up the map and get to 15 reflexes, get the Qiant Sandevistan from FIngers. It's pretty much the best one, in my opinion.

Pure blade from the start is difficult. I played blades+shotguns on my first playthrough. Shotguns were primary until i could get mantis blades, regen perks and some supporting cyberware then transitioned into blades nicely.
Katana is actually my favourite weapon and I did two playthroughs with it on very hard, one of them being Katana only, no guns whatsoever. What I can say is that, at the start you gotta pick your fights VERY carefully, you are weak and need to make the fight even in your favour before the enemies notice you, that means, use stealth. Take the perks that increases damage on heavy attacks, that makes you decapitate enemies with a single strike and others won't even hear you. As you level up it only gets easier, you get cyberware, stronger katanas, armor and perks and you pretty much become invencible.

Oh, another useful tip for the early game: make use of flash grenades in situations where you do have to go in more aggressively. Their nice for Crime in Progress missions especially, since you can disable enemies from range as you approach, but they don't harm any civilians that may be present. They're also no danger to you if you accidentally throw one too close.

I practiced on an assault map. Died a lot, finished it 2 or 3 times. In the end i got the 200 armor implant. Should help, also i think i know what i'm doing a little better.

It would be nice if blades could be used in sneak attacks. I played at release so i'm not sure if it got fixed but having a character sneak up to an enemy and essentially using the sword like a club wasnt really pretty to see

Ram with red barrel exploding car. Hit them toward a wall and keep stun lock. Walk out of the car and shoot at it. Get up the speed and the car will either float by hitting an unmovable object or get stuck in the ground by having an immortal stuck under the car. Then shoot the car
