Recover save that was overridden
so i accidentally overridden my corpo save with the new nomad save ive been doing, is there a way to recover my corpo save? cus i tried to see if all my corpo autosaves where there but they did not show up and now im tempted to just delete everything and quit playing, im really pissed. could someone please help explain if there is a way to recover the lost corpo save? if only this game would let you respec your attribute points like you can with your perk points i would have never had to create a new character to test out another build, like for why the hell can i go to the ripper to reset my perk points but cant do that with the attributes like Body, technical and the others.

Volume Shadow Copy? Restore previous version? Gotta know where it resides first- of course...

and i have no clue what a volume shadow copy is
Copy/paste files into a new folder.

Directory:
%userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077

It only keeps 10 auto saves and 3 quick saves. Always backup your save files no matter what game it is. For CP2077 they're located here:

C:\Users\"your username"\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077

You can put it pretty much anywhere you want. "Documents" would probably be best. Or if you have a secondary hard drive anywhere on there.

ok cool, what do i have to do to get them to show up
in game?

The problem with the whole cutting and pasting thing being: one needs to remember to do it all the time.

And if you've already lost what you wanted to cut and passte, you're already SOL, at least this time.

Somewhat honestly I kinda cover this by making many saves of one save. "Deltas" if you want to call them that. If I screw something up? I back up to a previous save and I've only lost a little time.

Constantly overwriting a single save- while it results in a smaller footprint, is almost certainly going to lead to pain at some point.

It's cool. Backing saves up is simply just copying the saves and pasting them in another folder anywhere on your computer. You can do this for any game that has local saves and doesn't keep them on a server somewhere (like MMOs, for example). Keep in mind that you manually have to make new copies of the save folder any time you want to create a backup since the backup folder won't update automatically.

As for getting your overwritten save back, that's likely not possible at this point, sorry. Live and learn though, it's part of PC gaming :)

Copy/paste files into a new folder.

Click the Windows icon key on your keyboard (lower left corner beside the Ctrl key) and press the R key together. A window will show.

Paste:
%userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077

Press Enter key. Now copy everything in the window that shows up. Now, go to your Documents folder, make a new folder, and paste what you had just copied.
