Let's Be Honest....Cyberpunk 2077 is in Beta

Missing features, loads of bugs, empty feeling world. not going to lie, i was one of the people hoping they stuck with the December release....but if i would have known the game was so unfinished and they was honest about how far the game progression was i would of happily waited another 2 years. i've waited 8 years and its the only game ive cared about since shadowrun for the Xbox 360 came out, so its really annoyed me that is wasn't what we was promised!

i really do hope they evolve this game to what is was supposed to be

By modern standard this is NOT a beta. The coding and the way systems work with would be late Alpha or Early beta if we were talking 20 years ago. Not today's marketing. Beta today is finalizing/minor bugs for a day 1 patch, Not having AI coding for police being thrown in the week of release is proof of this.

idk where you think that betas are simply finalizing... there are three stages of beta, and yeah the final open beta would be what you describe, but the first two stages (which are closed beta and only a select few get to participate) are absolutely not final products.

Closed/Internal Beta's don't go by term anymore. Open beta's was originally for load testing generally servers for online games to test stability. Marketing took over the term.

It is more in a techdemo or Alpha stage, they would have to put so much work into it to make it anythign decent, just Police AI or carchasses alone is soemthign they can't manage to implement....
The game is not bad, but then you look at it or go away from the path and it just falls apart in such a buggy mess.

Its not beta anymore, you should have seen it back on 1.03 I played that version and it was way worse at that time, its alot better now

It is CDPR comitment to quality man.
They made people pay them for testing their game so they can remove bugs and continue development.
One day they will leave this beta and you will have good game.
They care.

I know the game should be tagged as early access but come on... Fanboys are saying they never manipulated us and all those fake videos were just "usual marketting" so why would we complain on such minor things like ea tag?

I feel sorry for you. You payed to be betatester, but normal testers GET payed for their job

I didn't bother with the hype train nor over-analyze the trailers, so this game is actually subjectively 'decent' (story, character development, expressions and voice acting-wise) and rather playable as of now. I would say the amount of bugs would be equivalent to a beta. Can be frustrating at times, but reloading a previous save file usually fixes it.

Contrary to some beliefs that a 'fan' will only blindly defend a game, I do believe this game could be more and definitely require bug fixes especially ones in the nomad ending (mob clipping underground, mantis blade can't hit Adam Smasher unless a weapon switch is first performed and so on). I do believe the majority of people who gave a positive review felt that way and would have probably be willing to wait longer like OP .

Fan can admit game`s flaws.
Fanboy will come up with crazy excuses to defend and justfity bugs:

This is a early access game they decied to cash in on to early at the cost of their reputation and peoples trust in the company. This trust/reputation was worth a hell lot more then any quick buck they made. I don´t agree this is a beta, this is an alpha with cut content still being worked on and placeholder systems like the police system that´s not finshed etc. It could have been a crystal clear 10/10 and won GOTY by a landslide. That did not happened because they screwed that up by releasing it to early when it was not even near finished with boatloads of cut content and broken promises.

as someone whos library is about 1/2 early access games when i bought them, yes. this game is very much at early access quality game mechanics. the base is there but the depth is not. its just proof of concept and thats about it.
