1. A high enough attribute in Body to force the door open.
2. By finding a shard on a dead body in the area with the access code on it.
3. By finding a shard on a table or crate that has the access code on it.
4. By using a keypad near the door to enter in a code number.
Never, Yet have I seen where you use a laptop to open a large door. Not saying there isn't one. I've just never ran in to that before.
Oh, and I've found a few doors that have a keypad but, I never found the key codes for them.
Edit; I should mention that I don't do the hacking part of the game. I only have 5 points in Intel and I just run in guns blazing without the hacking part.
think I will do the same on my next playthrough, the intel is useless after finding out I can get Purple Level Quickhacks from the Pacifica gangs
Once I realized you don't have to do any of that, I never bothered learning how. Maybe when I do Corpo in my second play through I'll go the hacking route.
Sure, but you might not need them. Netrunners are rich (and, currently mimicking real life, probably bored, and buying way too many cars).
To the OP -- if you want specific help with a location, it's good to provide screenshots of the location and also of the specific laptop. Maybe also of your position on the map. There's a variety of hacking problems in the game, and a variety of laptops.
after you disassemble all them yes, they are worth more money if you sell the components
I keep hearing that and seldom think about disassembling them first. I walk or run wherever I go and in most cases there are random gangs and drop boxes around every corner. I've cleaned out 4 or 5 drop boxes for 20k each in a couple of hours. Have some small amount of fun doing it. But, I will start breaking more guns down and see how much difference it makes.
Thanks.
If that aspect of the game interests you, note that while it's not completely obvious, you can also disassemble drinks.
Yep I know, Vending Machine can farming and breaking down the components is what I do early in game, it helps the crafting skill as well.
Ah.. good point... although I was responding to your post, I was thinking I was responding to the person you were responding to. I was trying to expand on your suggestion.
