The English localization is great. Although there are more native languages, as some characters are using Japanese (Saburo), Spanish (Jackie, Padre), French (Voodoo boys), Russian (Scavs), Korean and Chinese. There are also some references in German (Totentanz, "Zeig dich"), Scandinavian (the ridiculosly named mineralwater) and Portugal (the golden Mírame hat). I really loved how they managed to get in so many details.
That's Spanish, means "look at me".
Male V was good for example but not as great as the english for me
Same for Female V but ... o gosh the english version was sooooo good I could listen to her for hours
Wait ... That what I did XD !
Haitian Creole*
Yep. Not an expert about their history, but it became a language derivated from french due to their history, if I'm correct it goes back to slavery times, slaves had to learn the colons language, french actually, to communicate with others, but without books or any basics, just by hear obviously. Hence the very basic grammar and approximative pronunciation compared to French.
On topic, I always play games or watch medias in the language they were intended for, so english in this case - not to mention you got Keanu Reeves dubbing his own character so it's definitely a point for the english version. I'm sure most of translated versions are fine, but what I heard from the french one didn't convince me, not about the translation but the tone for some of the characters, compared to the english version.
Can't speak for all characters but Delamain and V are very different, I just don't get why they didn't stick with their original dubbing tones.
It reminds me of Sam Hayden - EDIT: Vega, my bad, been a while. in Doom 2016 and Eternal. Original voice is deep and kinda scary, french one sounds like Microsoft Sam on painkillers. Yuck.
Locke: i'm glad to hear they did good in Italian aswell. Honestly I was impressed. I always hated to play in French, it's the first time I actually enjoyed a game in french!
I was really going to try it a bit in English on a new characters just to see the difference. I'm sure it must be crazy good. I just wanted to mention that for once, I had fun playing in french as usually, I keep all my games in english because the translations and voices actors feel lame.
People whine a lot about this game and maybe it requires polishing but I believe they deserve that when something is good, we mention it. And french in this game is damn good!
Mírame is the same in (Brazil) Portugal, and while it is "look at me", it can be used as "notice me" (targeted to a crush) depending on the situation and the pronunciation.
Après j'avoue le doublage est pas trop dégueu.
Sauf que dans les autres jeux, en plus souvent les doubleurs ont tellement pas l'air crédible..
Mais faut que je l'essaie en anglais pareil parce que y a généralement rien qui bat l'original.. je dis juste que c'est un des seuls jeux que j'ai toléré de jouer entièrement en français alors que d'habitude je vomis sur mon clavier après 30 min et que je retourne instant en anglais. xD
I know lol. I'll try it in english at some point.. i'm just saying that for once, I had some fun playing whole game in french.. it never happened before xD
