From the planning phases & negotiations, it was arranged that CDPR would be taking control of the IP timeline after 2077 -- in order to produce more titles in the series and advance the canonical storyline of the world.
There is also cross-market business happening with CP2077 sourcebook materials for the RPG (likely the 1st to come in the new series of books).
My little nephew couldn't care less about 'Dungeons & Dragons' -- but his console time on CP2077 had him picking up those tabletop rulebooks with real interest.
