[Question] Is there a single button press to disarm yourself? If so, what is it?
I keep having to put my gun away by holding the Left-Alt, cycling around the fiddly weapon wheel to holster or sheath my weapons when, y'know, it occurs to me that a single press of the "H"-key would probably suffice in the same way that "1" pulls my main gun.

Does such a key exist? Or must I keep disarming myself the weapon-wheel way?

Double tapping Left-Alt works but it's a bit awkward to press.

Most of the time it just ends up with pulling out the mantis blades, monowire or whatever else cyberware you have for arms

Yeah... you gotta tap it several times usually.

This is what I do. But I remapped it to the - key on the far top right of the num pad. A quick double tap with my mouse hand.

If you mouse supports macros, you can make a macro for double-tapping the alt. I use it with my Logitech mouse and it works quite well.

Or my second gun. Yeah, it's a 50-50 proposition, I find ...

there's actually a mod you can get to map it easily to a key as double pushing alt kinda...sucks. Though it requires an outside program.

They should have abandonned the cycling use of alt and stick to cross/number keys to select a specific equiped weapon and hold alt for radial menu, it would be way more convenient.
Timing for double tap alt leave me with unintentional cycling all the time

While that might make sense, they also developped the game with controllers in mind which have a limited number of buttons. By designing with a controller in my they can just mimick controller inputs to keyboard. I'm not saying that this is what they should do, but it is often the simplest option. I use a PS4 controller for instance and single pressing triangle cycles weapons, double tapping triangle stows weapons, and holding triangle brings up the radial menu. Those 3 functions are on 1 button which is likely why they're also defaulted to 1 button on KB.

Oh, no weapons on cross then ? Yeah this is smart, they should make a better keyboard layout in the future but sounds ergonomic for gamepads !

Keyboard has deeper keys and double tap should be adjuted accordingly if they keep it imo !

Plus there is no support for AZERTY keyboards which is causing mapping to overlap each other.
I managed to get it fixed by manualy changing mapping but it will be gone as soon as I get an update, proof for me that their keyboard support is half-baked, and god knows how better the game feels with correct mapping so I hope that it will be fixed in next update for those who don't want to bother tweaking gamefiles ! :)

There's at least two ways to make fixing custom configs easier after an update resets them. The first is to save a copy of the file elsewhere and use it to restore the settings after an update. There is a risk of incompatibilities if settings are added/removed. The second one is to make a separate file that has a list of each entry you changed (original) and the change you made (new). That way you can just use the find and replace function in your text editor to restore your settings. This approach takes a couple extra minutes but is far more future proof.

Yeah I made a .bak file and I'll simply restore it, but I would rather have a fix from the CDPR team, this is not normal. But I know they're having piles of work already so I'll stick to that.

Yeah adding comment for a quick search and replace is a great Idea ! TY :)
