Arthur Jenkins: A character analysis -feedback needed!
Hello, Night city people!

I have a new video out on Arthur Jenkins. It is a sort of character analysis video.
Please leave any comment/feedback here or on the comment section:

Specifically, I am wondering: How was the audio/ what could be improved? Did this video keep your interest? Was I coherent in making my points, etc? Plus any other relevant feedback you might have,
The video will go live at 12:00pm Midwest Time on 3/17/2021

Thanks!

Here is the link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IihKbJ6fNH0

Currently it is set to private, but once it hits 12 pm the video will open up. Also does playing as corpo v have a major impact on the story?

Thanks, folks!

None of the life paths have any effect on the main story. Occasionally V has some unique dialogue that is tied to their lifepath depending on who you're speaking with, but that's it. Each life path also gets 1 unique mission as you progress through the game

Good to know, I really do wish they had more to do with the lifepaths. Nevertheless, if you are interested take a peek at the video and see what you think. Feedback is appreciated.

Honestly even though lifepaths don't change the main decisions in game, it definitely changes the flavour and narrative of your character moving through the story. For example, a key dialogue scene may be completely hostile/agressive with street lifepath, while a corpo may be completely civil and will take control of the situation. They also make certain outcomes easier with their special dialogue options, allowing you too get plot outcomes usually locked behind certain attribute checks. Or gain more info/lore than another path in the same situation. Or even give a more optimal ending to a sidequest/conversation.

Without giving any spoilers, Corpo V in my opinion seems a lot more tied into the big events of the game than the other paths. He/she seems a lot more in control as well and one step ahead of most other NPCs. Certain ending(s) seem more agreeable and fitting being a former corpo intel officer.

Anyways, I really liked Jenkins and as certain plot developments unfold, I wondered if Arasaka intel in Night City would have been better off with him at the helm rather than super paranoid Abernathy. Well, they were both paranoid characters (rightfully so), but Jenkins gets things done and Abernathy is hinted to have gone totally nuts with paranoia in certain corpo dialogue in mid/end game. :p

I originally posted before the video was activated and after watching it, I agree with most of the points.

The only point I disagreed with as a possibility was that Abernathy and Jenkins may have been working together to get rid of V. I really don't think either of them saw V as a threat that needed to be eliminated. Jenkins maybe as V shows promise and expertise, but there would be easier ways to get rid of V without putting himself into so much jeopardy.

Now based on what happens to Jenkins, Abernathy and even Frank, all character arcs eventually show the futility of the horse race in Arasaka Corpo-rat life. If you're not an Arasaka family member or really close to them in some way, you're easily replaced and/or doomed to failure. Actually one could argue this is the case for all Arasaka aligned characters in-game, regardless of being close to the family or a family member themselves.

Ironically after being fired from Arasaka, being almost eliminated in the process and after the events of the entire game, Corpo V may end up being one of the most successful Corpo-rats ever. That's if things... "work out" as "promised." :)

Spoilers on Frank and Abernathy (Don't read if you don't want to spoil certain content): Nothing works out for any of your former colleagues. Frank gets purged with almost everyone else in intel after Abernathy goes full paranoid. Then during one of the ending paths, you learn through certain dialogue that Abernathy committed "suicide" just a few days before. Abernathy ends up in the dirt just like Jenkins. By the end of the game, corpo V was probably better off and probably lived longer than he/she would have if Jenkins had never moved against Abernathy.

Thanks for watching! Not many people have so any one who does is appreciated! Do you think Jenkins used v as a pawn then? Or did jenkins not actually try to set v up and it happened that way naturally? I did not know about that dialogue bit so thanks for letting me know. Knowing what happens to v- I don't think he is really better off than any of the other people in Arasaka.

Did you have any specific feedback on the video? Was the audio good/bad? Did it keep your interest? Any general improvement- I should make for the next one?

Who is Arthur Jenkins? He looks like someone I shot in the face at some point during the game, but then there were so many. I can't remember them all.

If you did the corpo lifepath for v he is one of the first people you meet.. Watch the video to find out more. Or if you want me to spoil it let me know...

The video description should probably mention that your narrative is specific to the Corpo lifepath (aka Corpo background story)?

(I only watched a little bit of it -- I am afraid that I am not the right kind of person to watch and/or judge videos. I mostly don't have the patience to watch them.)

Didn't think of that. I will add that in.

I could watch it, but it's as many of us have said. All paths converge after the prologue. I also will add more context and say that there are no lifepaths in this game, only the V path.
