but no info if its in the game at the moment or how to unlock it
Disabling the mini map is super interesting to me ... That seems very difficult. I love the idea for immersion.
I personally approached this like I would Skyrim or other RPGs and limited my V to my playstyle. In this case, I only use handguns and hacking, no matter how tempting other things are.
I also am playing my V as a former corpo trying to do right now. So with the exception of the gigs that are storyline related, unless they have an overall moral reason to do them, I won't do them. Stealing, for example. Unless it's from other corpos
I have no further input...you're legions ahead of me for immersion. I love topics like this and hope to be inspired

It disables most UI elements except Quest-Markers, Health Bars of normal opponents and Icons above people, including the "spotted" marker.
So the game is perfectly playable as far as stealth and combat itself goes.
Its not that much more difficult without the Minimap. I am used to stealth-approaches from Games like Hitman, and the vision-cone the minimap displays makes stealth trivial in this game. So I disabled it, because V wouldn't be able to have that information either.
Also I feel like the Kiroshi-Optics help out a lot in the first place with the silhouette that is displayed around opponents after you scanned them/had them in your Line of Sight for a while. You can't disable these it seems (currently Patch 1.2). But they don't break the immersion in my opinion. Can be explained with the Optics.
Oh, and the "Ping" Ability becomes really useful because it displays the location of opponents and machinery to V for a few seconds.
As far as the disabled Healthbar goes, you can tell when you're low on health with the red vignette effect that is visible, so disabling health-bars works too in my opinion.

I play on Very Hard which makes gunfights much more lethal, so sometimes you need to be quick with the healing button. But I believe that only makes utilizing cover that much more important.
My biggest gripe is that Melee-Builds seem to be at an inherent disadvantage in this game but I have not tested it out enough to be able to tell.
This is a really cool approach to the game as well, I might attempt a more discerning character in a future playthrough. Thank you for the input.
Nice post thanks, some good tips.
I've been wondering how they could add more story to the game. And how it would be handled. Thinking you'd have to make a new character and experience the additions on that playthrough.
But what you said makes a lot more sense, at least for the period of the game that was put into a montage. Don't have to worry about your character being over-leveled. Just play as Jackie, I'd like that.
