Skipping Johnny's segments
Hello reader!

I am reinstalling Cyberpunk because its been about half a year and I want to give it another whirl. I've already done a few playthroughs so I know what I'm getting into, but the one thing I am dreading is going through all the mandatory and boring-as-hell Johnny flashbacks. His attack on the tower, and his fling with whatsherface. The only solution I found was to just take a save file from Nexusmods, but that feels inelegant and I'm not really getting to do the fun of character creation at that point.

Does anyone know of any mods and/or console commands that can skip those segments?

Ya Johnny silver hand and the hole chip thing ruined the game big time for me too and killed the immersion every time u start to injoy game and get immersed johnny silver head pop up to ruin it and remind you hes taking you over and trying to control you killing the immersion and freedom of choice and playing how u wantted.

I feel sadly tho with how imbeded they made the story and him there cant be a mod to do these things cause they made main story so full of johnny silverhead.

Like honestly i wouldnt come back to this game until they announce a expansion that address the bad story writting and expands on the mainstory endings to replace many of them to have a better outcomes and more choices to the game to get johnny the hack out and give V more control and freedom.

Honest at this point we should start a petition to "Free V's Head" =P
But ya i have a feeling tho honestly sense game was so depressing and major disappointment that there is no hope for its future to fix all the terrible content and lack of content this game is. =(

Seriously. Like after you wake up in the dump its like hey welcome to the open world and the rest of the story, btw its a one directional story line from here to the end so no choices for you! Oh and btw you get to spend all of it with Silverhands now have fun! 🤮🤮🤮

I... I just wanted a mod to skip what is effectively a mandatory cutscene. :'D

Quite. Literally nothing that happens in them affects V's storyline. Same as everything between the heist and seeing Takemura. Fine to play though once but give us the option to skip it subsequently.

Literally nothing happens that affects V? It’s the first revelation of V’s fate. On top of resetting the tone and pacing of the story thus far, it is the first spasm of the emotional and existential heart of the story.

agree with OP. Also do this with tutorial Braindance. Like i don´t want to have hand held tutorial about man getting shot in head part in game each time i start over game.

I relish that BD every run. It’s time with Judy at her best. The atmosphere is incredibly creepy. It’s a wonderfully constructed experience. Preem Night City Voyeurism.

The acting and presence of the two gonks is stirring. The shooter’s voice is so normal and composed. The menace is hidden in a disturbing way.

And then stepping through the encounter in slow motion. You can hear the heart beating faster and faster. Then you hear the click of a firing pin striking. An infinite moment of time between life and death. The heart starts beating slower and slower. A gasp. A stagger. A fall…

And one final heartbeat. Darkness.

Again, my desire to skip has nothing to do with the quality of the storytelling - just wishing there was a skip option for when you're on your fifth or sixth playthrough.

I really wish BD were a bigger part of this game they were pretty cool. I remember the first time with this one too being like "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is awesome, I can't wait to see more of these." And then we really only had like one or two more? I can't remember, someone correct me if I am wrong. I was really disappointed that there weren't more in the game.

My issue with him is not that he's a nihilistic bellend - heel characters are what drive drama in stories, if everyone was nice then the fiction would be terribly boring. What I dislike about Johnny is that in spite of being a complete prick literally everyone reveres him. Furthermore there are no choices to be made during his flashback segments, its just a movie that you have to be at the keyboard the whole time in order to make finish. One that I've already watched a good four or five times.

I see your point, but this is something you have to deal with with any game that is story driven, if you replay the game you replay the story. I know it may get old the more times you replay the game, but that's just the way it is.

LOL this is so true, but to actually have to explain this to another adult is just where we are in the world today. OMG.

"I can't believe you'd want to reduce the loading screen times in your game by putting it on an SSD. A poor experience is just part of the product, that's just the way it is."

"Using a mod to improve textures to improve your experience? LOL GROW UP, accept the base game as it is. Poor textures are just the way it is."

Like.. Is the concept of attempting to improve your own experience with a game really that alien? I am just looking for resources to help me manage an element of the game I wish to improve, that's really not such a big deal lol

If only. I have to be content with making sure that little ball of pus goes to his reward at the end. The option of shooting him in the face at some point would really make me happy.

I'm just hoping for an end conversation option that involves kicking him in the balls.
