Will Cyberpunk 2077 Get a Sequel? And Would You Buy It?

So personally I think that there is a really high chance we will get a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 as they have already built the world, the lore is extensive so there's plenty of story they could use to continue it. the potential is limitless.

The only thing that worrys me is that because of the backlash of Cyberpunks release that they might let the IP die out and just continue with The Witcher 4, which in my opinion would be wasted potential. Yes i agree that cyberpunk has still got a long way to go to fill the gaps of missing contents from release but i trust in CDPR to for fill that and complete cyberpunk, its going to take a lot of time but i firmly believe it will get there. after every update we get more fixes and soon we will have DLC's and expansion packs to also fill out the game. i personally think that we could get 2 more decent game out of the franchise.

so my question to you all is, Would you all be interested in a Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel? or would you rather see Cyberpunk die and be forgotten about? all opinion are welcome and id love to hear all what you have to say on the matter

Yes I would because I really enjoyed CP77, but wouldn't get it on day one and instead wait a couple of months (or a year) for them to patch it.

I wish people paid more attention to what's really going on because it's one thing to blame the game for what it does wrong, it's another to come to the wrong conclusions because what it does right flew above your head

That said, from a storytelling standpoint, it would still make no sense whatsoever to continue her story
If there's a sequel it will be a different main character almost for certain

Yes i would. This game lack polish. Go try witcher 1 although some people like it, others dont. It took a while till they get thing right on witcher 2 and 3. So a sequel or even a standalone expansion with diff timeline will probably get it right and i dont need some hollywood actor this time round. Spend that budget on hiring more developer instead.

Unfortunately at some point throwing more people at a problem leads to the opposite of the desired result

THis game doesn't need a sequel. It needs a Director's Cut remaster.

Yes... I will support CDPR for their effort and thankful for the low sale price offer I couldn't refuse. I didn't buy the game to review it but a positive review is coming after I go back in with the last update. The only bad news I have is my 17/44 achievement score.

To answer your question: I don't think anyone has any idea atm, including CDPR themselfes. They might have some ideas on the shelf, in case they get to that, But I highly doubt there are any concrete plans. They aren't finished with this game yet.
That said, I would love to see a sequel, where they'd hopefully avoid a lot of the mistake that they made with this game, but it'll take at least 5 years, most likely more like 8-10 years before we'd get to that.

Inserting a new strong IP in today's ultra saturated video games market is a feat (though obviously it's easier when you can shower millions to make it happen)

It's in their best interest for CP77 to come out of it with a better reputation, and plan sequels
Brand and popularity sell, arguably more than quality
I doubt that's not their intent with this game

To my awareness they were talking about working on 2 games instead of one in the future.
This would include the current work on CP2077, but I'm to lazy to look for the source.
Be it as it may, it's still far off in the future. My estimate of 5-10 years before we hear or see anything about a sequel won't change, though I'm obviously just guessing from my past experiences.

Yeah but witcher 1 wasn't an unplayable mess with a fake trailer at e3 and a marketing that is so shameless EA would look at it going "♥♥♥♥ guys... that's messed up". They said "We leave greed to others and the game will come out when it is ready". Meanwhile almost a year later they are releasing patch notes that are so big they need 2 steam posts to include some and it ends with AND MANY MORE. Like this game was not ready, the trailer was fake, the marketing was fake and the employees were treated like ♥♥♥♥. Why do people even defend this? Have a bit of self respect.

I will totally continue to play it. yeah, it had its issues on release but CDPR have worked hard to rectify the problems it has. I really enjoyed the game and am intrigued to see where they will take it if a sequel is made.
I first played the game on console and didn't have that many issues with bugs luckily. I would like to see them make the game more interactive with the little things. Like the different places to live being able to use more than the stash would be great. Focusing on the little things like this make games more enjoyable for me. I cant speak for everyone on this.

As far as the game being dead i believe as long as people continue to play and CDPR continue to put more work into it, it will stay alive and thrive and i am excited to see what they will bring next.
