Will they ever, who knows.
Yes they are unique, but the game supplies you with crafting specs for these items, regardless you need the base item to craft. Plus, it's not like the game is consistent or functional with how these items work. Here are two examples. One being the O'Five Iconic weapon that I can just craft as many times as I want, and the other being the Crash Iconic weapon that I can't get rid of even if I wanted to. There should be no reason why you can't craft the base weapon again if you dismantle it.

I launched the game to check, and once again their is inconsistency between them all. Gonna drop a couple screenshots here.
1) I have max Technical Ability and Crafting.

2) I have the Epic rarity Scalpel crafting spec selected, and it shows I need a Rare rarity Scalpel to craft it. However, as you can see I don't even have a Rare rarity crafting spec for any Katana weapon.

3) I have a Rare Dying Night spec that requires an Uncommon one to build, but I don't have the proper crafting spec to build the Uncommon one. (This is consistent with every other Iconic crafting spec except for the 3 I'm about to list)

3a) I can craft a Rare Buzzsaw, but I don't have any greater rarity specs for it.

3b) I can craft an Epic Comrade's Hammer, but I don't have any greater rarity specs for it.

3c) I can craft an Epic Sovereign, but I don't have any greater rarity specs for it.

Can anyone compare these to their game, and see if you have the same result? Screenshots would be appreciated. I emailed their support months ago about these issues, but never got a response.
3. The next level rarity spec for these items will unlock after you have crafted the lesser rarity item (craft rare to unlocks epic spec, craft epic to unlock legendary spec), have you tried crafting the rare version > exit pause menu > re-enter crafting menu?
Thats the point, you should be able to recraft all iconics. Not this cherry picked system where some can and some cant.
"Should"? There is no "should".
Sometimes if you throw something away you cant get it back. Thats neither a bug nor a design problem. Thats a player decision.
The weapons were undesirable at the time, and I had no use for them. I saw that I now had Crafting Specs for most of them, and said "Oh hey, I just craft this whenever". I had better weapons, and wanted to wait until I had max crafting to make a better version of it. Scrapped pretty much everything I didn't use to make space and level my crafting.
V's Stash never had an explained purpose. I went in there at the start of the game to view my "rewards", and just kept them in there. I've never gone back to my apartment unless the game required me to for a mission. Didn't figured out what it was used for until I started googling this exact issue with Iconics back in January. There some guy in a forum explained it's purpose.
I agree with the second part where they should be consistent, but my take on how iconic "should" be would be:
- uncraftable (need to obtain from world/quest/dlc) but upgradeable to next tier by consuming the lesser tier
- fixed base stats for each tier so no need to reroll (already are)
- stashable (already are except the Legendary Crash since it's wrongly marked as quest item)
- sellable and scrappable, but with a warning prompt before doing so (they already implemented this feature when we're about to sell a legendary item)
Except the fact that there is a blatant design problem.
One Iconic I have, I can make an infinite amount of the Legendary version. Doesn't consume the Epic.
One Iconic I have, consumed the Epic version and gave me a Legendary version.
Two other Iconics I have, I can't sell/salvage/store it. (3 in total)
One of these is an Epic Variant that doesn't even have a Legendary schematic.
I've salvaged every other Iconic weapon I have, and I can't craft any of them except for 3 crafting specs.
These 3 Crafting Specs can all be crafted into Epic, and then Legendary versions of themselves. Even though I had previously salvaged all of these weapons. Out of all of these Iconics that I have come across, not once did they mention that I wouldn't have been able to get them back if I sold/salvaged it. There is no consistency between any of these items. Please, try to argue that there isn't a design problem here.
So after crafting the 3 Iconics that I was able to craft from scratch, each of them were able to be upgraded to Legendary if I refreshed the crafting screen. However, I still have one Epic Iconic in my inventory that doesn't have a crafting spec for a Legendary variant.
Is this item by any chance Skippy? because there is no legendary tier for it.
I believe so. Had to look it up real fast, and it was a pistol. Interesting that this weapon isn't even provided the option for a Legendary variant.
