Mission: Hacking the Hacker - spotted through a wall by enemies that spawn in I think [don't think there are any spoilers, it's a side mission]
So I'm doing this sabotage gig called Hacking the Hacker, in Arroyo.

I like to do these things stealthy, so I've taken over the cameras, tagged all the 6th Street Gang I can find, snuck past a couple near the elevator and gotten into a room off in a corner from where I've disabled the cameras. I'm now well out of sight of all the gangoons in the area and have access to a few options for moving around unseen from this location.

However as soon as I near one of the back wall of the corner room to enter a ventilation shaft, I'm in combat. None of the enemies I've previously tagged are alerted so I poke my head around the corner of the exit of the shaft and there's a couple of previously unseen gangoons firing at me from a location I've already snuck through to reach the corner room.

Thing is, I can't find these guys anywhere until I enter combat. If I reload my save game and go to the location where they shoot at me from, there's nobody there. All the enemies in the area are definitely tagged, all the cameras are deactivated, and there's also no way they can see me in the corner room, it's completely sealed. From what I can tell, they spawn in when I approach the back wall of the corner room, immediately see me through the wall (there's no increasing alertness, it's just suddenly combat) and pin me down.

Anyone else experience this in this or another mission? Bug or am I missing something?

Cameras can reactivate after some time, the don't stay permanently disabled. If a camera catches you, it's combat mode till all enemies are down. My build was heavily focused on netrunning, so I overrided cameras and used legendary Contagion and Short Circuit on every single enemy(well, there was an optional objective of killing some dude, so I used synapse burnout on him) and walked into a room, uploaded virus and got out without a fuss, because everyone was already down.

It's definitely not a camera, as even after combat has been triggered, the cameras are all still disabled. Also, there's no detection period before combat.

I actually killed the dude already by hacking the turret behind him, I thought this would send the enemies into high alert, but it did not.

I've seen that happen some times. There's a notable part in main quest itself, where there was an option in dialogue to pick a silent approach, but trying to sneak caused the enemies to be instantly fully alerted.

It has happened in other sidequests too, where they enemies just skip that eye-icon slowly filling up, instead going to full alert-combat mode instantly they see you.

Tried different things, it's when I get close to the hideout that the objective of that part of the mission is for. They just come out of thin air just behind me two of them shooting the moment they appear, and for a stealth build on hard mode, being shot at by ten or so enemies with the skull icons is lethal.

Also noticed that one of them has a name. Eli George, possibly a scripted encounter that is being triggered at the wrong time leading to confusion.

I'll try going back to the start of the mission, see if it still happens.

Update: OK, I loaded in at the start, the only thing I did different was not kill Lucius. Don't know if that affected things, the two who were spawning in are nowhere to be seen

I just finished this Gig after extreme difficulty. The gang members are very hard to kill except with a sniper rifle headshot, and they have rifles that can shoot through concrete and do critical damage. As I remember, the gig was rated only "Hard". Certainly not so in my experience.

I think the two who were spawning in are the same two who you see at the entrance to the megabuilding on your way in. When I get the lift back out, they're immediately hostile and start shooting before the lift doors even open. So I'm finding it very difficult to escape. Even resetting ones optics and trying to run out of the building before the other can shoot me I keep dying.
