GUIDE: How to beat the Cops @_@

First and foremost I'm going to state that yes the cops are most likely going to be over hauled completely from what I have read concerning future updates. However I wanted to make a post on how to have success against the Police forces in the game for newer players.

IMPORTANT NOTE: As of this time Police do not drop anything but common guns on occasion, and the drones usually do not drop anything, even if you have the Drone/Robot looting PERKS, so in short, no you can not get rich killing the Authorities in this game.

Cops and Levels of Crime:

3 things make the cops show up: (and they show up instantly, there is no wait period for their arrival. Each level of crime you increase instantly spawns additional/Next waves of Police forces.)

-Standing too close to an investigation(like going through the crime scene barrier)
-Shooting or Running over a civilian/EMT (Whether on purpose or Accident)
-Actively shooting at Police Officers/Border Guards/EMT/Riot Squads

Wanted Levels: (Star rating 1-4
==========
Like GTA has 5 stars of total wanted level, CP2077 has 4 and one final phase which isn't shown on your hud. They are listed below.

1 Star:
======
Typically this will be a single flying drone, or a single Beat cop on foot. Sometimes, it will be 1 of each, and on occasion two beat cops.

2 Stars:
======
This occurs after you have killed either the first drone or first beat cop, that spawn in your area. This phase will include additional Drones, usually 2, or another two beat cops, or a mixture of the two. This is also where you will start to see man sized Droids armed with Assault Riles.

3 Stars:
=======
If you proceed to kill 'ANY' of the second phase of forces that spawn in around you, a third phase is executed and this ups the ante quite a bit. Special Weapons Troops with Armored Helmets, body armor and assault rifles can spawn directly behind you or in front. They can and will spawn in on top of the Forces that are already present in the game. Meaning you could be fighting several heavily armed officers, flying drones with Smart Weapons, and beat cops together.

4 Stars:
=======

By killing anything from the previous forces after phase 3 has arrived, you will be attacked by NCPD's Elite MAXTac troops. They are heavily augmented with Cyberware that allows for very fast approach, dodging and Guns that can kill you in 2 bullets, (no matter your level or armor). They will combine forces with whatever is left of the previous forces, and rush attack you dodging left and right as they approach. Essentially if you allow them line of sight, you will be killed almost instantly. These are the notorious spawn right behind you troops that can 1-2 shot you with no time for you to react. There will almost always be 2 MAXTac Troops spawn in, Sometimes 3.

Final Phase( yes there is a final phase)
==============================
If you happen to defeat all Police forces/Drones/MaxTac troops you will encounter a final phase. This is the Automated Crime Prevention system built into every building in the City. Once you are detected at this phase Heavy Cannons will pop out of the walls or from the bottoms of bridges and shoot at you. Strangely enough they do not do as much damage as the MAXTac Troops from phase 4, and can be destroyed by shooting them several times. However several direct hits from these guns is lethal, if you are not fast on the healing button.

One Important thing to note:
======================
If you make it through all 5 phases, no further cops will show up to the scene. This is essentially CDPR's way to tell you, you won, and no more resources will be wasted on capturing or killing you. However if you get in your car and drive down the street while the IN COMBAT and 4 stars are still present, other cops may notice you and begin attacking. So it is advisable to stay in the area of the battle, until your IN COMBAT and stars disappear.


How to effectively Beat the POLICE:
============================

Armor
=====
Do not think for a second that Armor will protect you from MAXTac troops. Two shots killed me, at level 2, and two shots killed me at level 36 with over 3000 pts in Armor. You have to remember that CDPR, does not want you attacking civilians and or Police in this game, so they are designed to make you actually not want to commit crimes, because its just not worth the reloads or possibility or loosing your place in the game. Armor is essentially useless.

Running
========
This is the easiest method of surviving a run in with the Police force. Even better is getting into a car, and driving a block or two. This will cause you to instantly loose your wanted level. The police in the game are not designed to effectively chase you and their path finding skills are limited, and they will never give chase in a vehicle. Break line of sight, run and jump over obstacles and dart down alleys, and they will not be able to catch you in 80% of all cases.

Weapons/Tactics
========
This is where things start to matter. Essentially to truly rip up the cops, go for Headshots with Smart Sniper Rifles from a great distance to get started or regular Snipers. Go for Crit Chance and Crit Damage in All MOD SLOTS in your Weapons. The legendary Ashura Smart Sniper Rifle with 4 Mod Slots is Amazing.

Assault Rifles: Anything with a High Crit chance or High Crit Damage, and a High Rate of Fire (4+) also I can't stress this enough, look for/Craft Poisoned and Fire Assault rifles, that have 20% chance or greater to inflict negative status effects like Poison and Burning. Setting the cops on Fire causes them to go into a burning animation that essentially makes them helpless. And when you are shooting 6 shots per sec, and each one has a 35% chance to Burn, well that's a lot of crispy cops.

Pistols/Revolver: The bigger the better, with a Scope and Silencer and Stack your Pistol Perks, and you can do one shot head shots of over 100k damage. Just make sure to do tactical reloads, so you are not left reloading when the MAXTac troops start on you.

Finally the best Weapon Against Police Forces (even MAXTac) is:

The Katana
=========
Used in a sneaky tactics method, the Katana is the best weapon in the game. If you are spec'd for Blades this is a cake walk. What you do is run around a corner. Crouch, wait for the cop to approach, raise your blade to perform a strong attack, as they approach the corner, slice off there leg or head etc.

The Critical Bonus on the Blade, plus the critical bonus of you being in stealth (Crouched), plus the bonuses from your Perks and how the locational damage works in the game literally means One shot kills for most Police forces except MaxTac troops which typically require 3 hits. But when you hit them once, they are stun locked into a melee hit animation allowing several follow up hits without issue.

Complete your kill, run and break line of sight again, even its behind a soda machine, a car, or another corner, and wait for the next MaxTac guy to come around the corner. Slice, rinse and repeat. Cover is your friend, and remember to always be slicing at the head if you can.

Crowd Control:
============
Sometimes no matter how well you set yourself up or how good you think you are the Police will overwhelm you. This can be prevented with Grenades or Arm Missiles. Several well placed grenades in tight corridors/alleys send the cops flying, so toss a couple behind you while running wait for the bang, and then run directly into the cops while they are trying to get up and start slicing off faces.

If you don't get them all run back around another corner and ready the Sneaky Sword attack again.

I kill entire squads of Police using this method consistently. Good Luck Law Breakers.

I farm the border guards, there's about 16 guards and a big drone, they respawn if you drive about a block away and come back.
