This game really is oddly pg about sex considering how wall to wall it is with it in ads and with the sex work angle. Don’t know why they gave you so few people to actually hookup with and why they made you sound like a blushing virgin (at least with Panam, haven’t tried others) with your actual romance interest

Butts and titties make their appearance, sure, but they're just face-value because of how little sex matters in a setting where sex is all over the advertising, both for the game itself and in-universe. This game is highly vanilla for what it claims to be, and it's entirely misleading.

Well the game DOES give you SIX options for the male member. Why go to all that effort if it can't be utilised in any way?

Sure you CAN go on a turkey-slapping rampage, but no one actually acknowledges the act in any way which kind of limits the immersion...

Also, the single vag option is a pretty weak facsimile of a vag. I get how vags are harder than schlongs but if you're going to go with these kind of options one should go all in as it were...

Picture this: You're following the tracks of this dude some corpo big wig hired you to wack. While you gather clues about where he is now, you start to realize he's in love with that corpo's daughter and is trying to leave Night City with her. When you get to the dude, he and her lover are naked in the act. You can either kill him there or have a dialogue and decide their fate. Naked people, intercourse, but not necessarily with you directly. If you're kink enough you can watch them on sneak but the points is a mature content related quest. It has content, it doesn't conveniently hide nudity (like if you catch both in the act wearing underwear) and has no direct exposure of genitals or sex as if this was straight up hardcore porn.

I have more examples: You find this random dude on the streets. He's on withdrawl and asking for you to help steal some coke or meth from these dudes he knows are dealing some right now. You go with him, and after combating the guys, or taking the drug via dialogue skill check or through paying for it, the dude then invites you to his crib, a drug addict at that, with barely any space nor higiene to live. He then pours the drugs on the table and offers you to either take a hit or pass. He then proceeds to use them in front of you, snorting, injecting, anything visually shocking. He then can offer your more gigs with this heavy drug use theme. This was an example of mature content with no sex at all.

Another one: The police sents you some "deets" on a series of missing people. After a while, you start realizing all are dead when you find bits of their bodies. Starts off with nails, hair, then goes heavy into toes, ears and other shocking body parts. You could stare at that ♥♥♥♥ or just be disgusted and quickly look away. After a while you would find the culprit and had the option to arrest him, kill him on the act or even support his killings in a bizarre way. Mature, really shocking content without any sex, but may still contain nudity since we are talking about dead bodies, and a psycho that leaves bodies with underwear is extremely immersion breaking.

Lastly, you could have a comical take on the same subject. This dude paid insane ammounts of eddies to get a cyberschlong, but it got stolen right before the surgery. Now you gotta help this dude find out where that ♥♥♥♥ went, and you can even deny giving it to him in the end and keeping it for yourself. The cybernetic dong would appear somewhere along the quest, and you may see the dude naked with balls and no ♥♥♥♥. Mature content, no sexual content.

You people that pretend that mature content can ONLY be sexual intercourse really come off as some random dude trying to act mature with a cheap shot. It's obvious that mature content can enrich a story for adults, and still not be gratuitous sex like game of thrones.

The examples here to me only seem like adding explicit/shocking content for the sake of having explicit/shocking content. Especially with the last example, which seems to basically only serve the function of making the player go, "HA! I stole this guy's ♥♥♥♥ lmfao." Really mature, lol.

Not to mention the game already has some pretty graphic and mature content. Look up the ending of the Sinnerman quest chain if you don't believe me. Not to mention Judy's questline where we may not see mature content, but you certainly deal with it. Not only with what the Dolls studio guy does to Evelyn but also what Evelyn does to herself later in the story.

Edit: The game may not engage in explicit or mature imagery constantly, but it certainly engages in mature and explicit themes through many of the stories being told.

Dude if they add mod support you'd better be bringing out some custom missions man! Those ideas are good!

I mean there are things that are "similar" - e.g. most scavs locations are pretty messed up. But it could have definitely been taken up a notch, given the graphical capabilities here.

I would have expected someone screaming as Maelstromers were shoving implants in. I expected to see a cyberpsycho rip out someone's spine. At least once I'd like to see something coming towards me, first thinking it's a dwarf, but then it closes and it's a torso with most of the stomach trailing behind it, trying to desperately crawl away with it's remaining cyberarm, only for a massive cyberpsycho to jump down from a building and crush the poor guy's head on landing.

Also the BDs we see could have easily had more "realistic" things going on, like someone ripping out your heart as you're strapped down and it's shown to you still beating because they've kept the victim alive artificially as they do a vivisection (followed by all the other internal organs being shown).

Side note: Observer System Redux actually has more messed up scenarios than Cyberpunk 2077, though it's a obviously a different type of game and much narrower focus.

Actually thank you! I didn't watched the video but you pumped me into playing the game more! Fortunately I could afford a 20 day vacation this year, so I rushed the main story before leaving home. Couldn't enjoy the whole game. Maybe there is actual mature content to satiate me!
