Skippy Gun story NOT progressing
Hello everyone. I couldn't really find a proper fix to this on the internet and I'm pretty sure I must not be the only one that is facing this issue.

After finding and talking with Skippy, I chose Puppy-Loving Pacifist as we all know
SPOILER ALERT
Skippy changes your choice to whatever you did not pick in the beginning, so I wanted the Stone Cold Killer, obviously

But it does not matter how many people I kill, Skippy does not comment on any of it nor does he make sassy remarks unlike what I have heard, thus I do not get any progression to the 50 kill mark. And before you ask, I do not use PAX, nor do I have the Kiroshi Optics mod "Target Analysis' which both renders your weapon to Non-lethal. Also I make sure to shoot every downed enemy 'John Wick style' to make sure they are indeed, actually dead and not just unconscious. I must have tripled or quadripled the kill requirement by now easily, and the only dialogue I hear from Skippy is during the reload animation where he either says " Thanks choom" or "Don't stop" or something similar among those lines.

Is there any way to fix this issue without having to roll back around 20 hours of gameplay or making a new start to the game. Because I'm trying to go for %100 run and since the gun is bugged, I cannot get to the Regina side of the mission.

If there is no such fix, I really hope this thread will get some steam behind it so the developers could maybe release such a fix.

Thanks for your time.

I didn't use skippy after he changed to "puppy loveing" mode. A few days later he started to talk to me and said he belonged to someone. You don't need to use him to progress the quest.

Like everything else in the game, it's based on passing of time. You can cheese it by going into the pause menu and skipping time by a few days. After wandering for a bit, the story will progress. Same with all the other side quests in the game.

It's both to do with passed time and those 50 kills. I thought it was bugged too and resigned myself to that when he randomly started yelling at me about being a pacifist when I was in my apartment.

Could it have some relation with the main mission progression maybe ? Because time does not seem to be effecting it. I'm pretty much still at the beginning of the main missions, just after merging with Johnny himself, but I'm already level 41 with most of the side quests done. I guess I could try progressing a little deeper into the main story to see if that is the problem. In that case, it is really weird that the weapon Skippy is somehow related to the progression of the game, which I highly doubt but I feel it is still worth a try.

PS: I'm on my 2nd playthrough, that's why I'm taking such a weird approach this time around.
