Weapon damage mods don't make sense
I'm trying to make sense of how much actual damage a "damage mod" adds to a weapon. It's very confusing to the point where I'm not sure if a weapon without a "damage mod" is better or not.

Example, I have a SPT32 GRAD sniper rifle with the following stats:

283.4 DPS 911-1114 Damage 0.28 Attacks Per Second Detailed stats: +638-780 Physical Damage +3% Bleeding Chance 3 Headshot Damage Multiplier

It has an empty Mod Slot.
So I have the following weapon mod available:

Crunch Increases Damage by 5

So I place the mod in the rifle, and here's the new stats:

284.9 DPS 916-1120 Damage 0.28 Attacks Per Second Detailed stats: +638-780 Physical Damage +3% Bleeding Chance 3 Headshot Damage Multiplier Increases damage by 309.233

The first 3 lines change as expected.
But what is up with the extra 309.233 damage at the bottom???

I think that weapon modification is not very fan. I found interesting only than one that remove vertical recoil. I wont to see such modification that are really changes something except stats. For example magazine volume, or fire mode burst > full auto, or single > burst or full auto for marksman rifles.

Yeah the Increased by ???? values that appear at the bottom seem to be nonsensical, at least to me. The same thing happens when you add Armadillo mods to your clothing. If someone understands them I'd love to be enlightened.

It doesn't make sense, period, so just stop trying to make sense of them. It's that kind of world. :)

I think what happens is that they add all the values together but then wrongfully show the total value for each individual mod. so let's say you use 3 mods that each give +20 it will show something like:

+60
+60
+60

Yeah, I tried to make sense of those as well since I do enjoy knowing how things tick but after a while I just gave up and went "Do the numbers floating above the enemies get bigger when I put this mod in? Yes? Great, we'll go with that."

Wouldn't mind seeing a proper breakdown of how they work but not gonna stress about it.

IIRC it lists the total armor that the equipment piece provides, base + all armadillo mods, but multiple times if you have more than one installed. Doesn't make any sense and is not how it's supposed to work, but that's what I think it shows.

EDIT: nvm, it doesn't make any sense after all. Shows 660 bonus armor, but two armadillo mods only provide 480 and the total is ~485.

Multiple epic Crunch mods wont stack properly, if you want highest possible damage added from multiple Crunch mods then use one epic and rest rares.
