What's the point of incapacitated enemies that give more XP when you actually kill them?
Seems like just busy work to me. Having finished the game with mostly quickhacks, I've often have enemies I've defeated writhing on the ground but not dead (happens less often with guns too). Initially, I avoided killing them but quickly found no consequence for putting an extra bullet in non-unique npcs and getting extra xp. In fact, there've been police missions that didn't register as being complete until I've put a bullet in everyone, which makes no sense.

best way to get street cred/ xp is equip the mod that turns all your damage to non lethal and finish off everyone at the end of the fight with your fists or weapon of choice, basically double xp/street cred, since the bounty system is broken, i guess this is just the best way to deal with it, since otherwise, how would pacifist players get any xp? besides running away like 500 meters until they despawn and they get "captured", but this would be very annoying i bet. Prob they will just make them no longer give double xp in the future.

Consequences? I never thought about it. I put a bullet in them on general principle.

I haven’t seen a difference with killing or not. I believe the devs just put it in as an option. However it’s not different than any other game out there with the same option. Dialog might change but overall story and game remain.

Yes, a lot of other games give you this option but they generally don't give you xp a second time for killing them on the ground. This just seems to incentivizing busywork. Not to mention it's a strange design to encourage players to use nonlethal weapons only to kill enemies again once they're down.

Agree. The more I look at this, the more I think it is a rush work.
There are some NPC that will mention about 'bloodless victory' during your mission.
But there are no further consequence than that.
Also, not killing them will give you less loot. Some enemy won't pickup weapon from inventory unless you kill them.

actually, if they arent alert, they wont drop their weapon, unless they have it out before you grab them, not alerting them makes you lose some money since they wont have their weapon out (and it wont be in their body once incapacitated, idk why)

You can exploit incapacitated enemies by killing it again for XP Farming just in case you want to know.

Yeah, I don't even consider it an exploit. I have the mod installed that turns my damage to non-lethal. I just change my mind after I've downed them all and decide they deserve to die. Or that they'd look better with a head cut off. Artistic expression - not exploiting.
