Female V Animation
I grant you that, in the grand scheme of things, this is MINOR and I am not complaining, just curious.

I didn't really notice this until I got the fixer legendary set (with the skirt). But whoever designed the sitting position for female V must have been a man.

Most little girls are taught, from an early age, that if you wear a skirt (or anything similar) to put your legs together. Yet female V sits like a man with her legs splayed wide lol. Again, not a big deal, but when you're character is wearing a skirt, it is painfully obvious. I had to get rid of that look after a short while because it bugged me. I kept wanting to scream PUT YOUR KNEES TOGETHER FOR GOD SAKE lol!

Just curious if anyone else noticed or if it's just me.

Now I can't unsee it. My V is wearing the little booty shorts now and from a 1st person perspective, it's almost hysterical when she sits down b/c not only are legs open wide, but her thighs and knees look bony (like she has not real shape to her legs)

Again, this is just a "for fun" comment. The game, while I love it, has a lot of other areas that need serious work. Just curious if anyone else caught this and got a laugh out of it.

I've (dated) known more than a few punk chicks who have aggressive, even masculine mannerisms... 'course, most of 'em wouldn't be caught dead in a skirt, either.
I look at Judy :judy: sitting, knees apart, elbows on 'em...I'm reminded of one of my exes quite a lot.

Not sure the devs really thought about feminine clothing when animating V--that'd be on them--but the posture itself is not outside the realm of possibility. Ya just gotta (date) hang out with certain parts of society.

I cross my legs just below the hip when I sit, and I've never crushed my balls or my Default sized penis. How people sit depends entirely on what sort of person they are and how they feel most comfortable. V probably just sits like that because she does.

P.S. Thanks to everyone (so far) who has been a good sport and has taken this post with a grain of salt as I intended. Yes, I wish there was an option for V to close her darn legs (and actually have a more shapely body) but it's more funny than anything.

!00% best answer! I agree, there are a lot of tom boys out there. I grew up with some. You are further correct that they would never have worn a dress haha. Excellent post! In an ideal world, it would be nice if you could choose your character's mannerism (i.e. more aggressive or demure) but I don't expect that in any game anytime soon.

I think one person did all the mocap for V. Male or female. wearing a dress? Sits down, leans back and full on manspread on the couch.

Quite common in games like this. I still remember ME2 where the developers chose to include a dress for the FemShep in a DLC (kasumi i think) and every single cutscene where FemShep would sit somewhere, she would basically spread her legs out while wearing a fancy tight dress, which needless to say was really awkward.

Its unfortunate, but not unexpected, thankfully in this game you'll be in First person most of time, so just don't look down and pretend your character isn't some naughty exhibitionist.

You're the 2nd person to mention that and, now that I'm thinking about it, I do remember the DLC dress. LOL. At least it wasn't something she wore the whole game. Unlike my V who was not only sitting in it, but riding a motorcycle in it and otherwise, kicking butt.
Probably my fault for even running around and finding the darn thing! I just thought...wow that looks so nice in the inventory screen.

Role-play V as a butch lesbian, done! Seriously though, Female V is so "unladylike" in so many other ways, it would almost break immersion if she politely crossed her legs like a proper young lady hahaha.

The game was rushed out so it's definitely a oversight like someone else said.

All I'm sayin' is it would have been nice if the skirts had a more proper sitting animation lol. Like someone else said, no "tom boy" or "butch" V would wear a dress to begin with. I know CDPR has a LONG LIST of things to address before this, but maybe they could slip it on the bottom of the pile :)

My female V would crush her testicles if she sat with her legs together.

You're joking but this is a good point for why OP shouldn't hold their breath for the animation to change: male or female V can have balls. If CDPR couldn't be bothered to do anything with the balls they modeled, why would they add an animation that's kind of dependent on whether or not the character has them?
