Gimmie Danger was a truly terrible mission experience (Spoilers)
Ok my experience on the mission Gimme Danger where you *break* into the Arasaka warehouse with Takemura was so immersion breaking I am really, truly hoping it was bugged.

I decided to enter the facility by hijacking a van. Drove into the complex... ok so far so good. Then i got out and no one cared that i was there. I literally walked around the entire facility like a moron, jumping, running, stealing things, bumping into people. forcibly broke down doors while people were staring at me and NOTHING. I hacked a terminal while literally standing on top of someone!!

Then i thought maybe... just maybe i had found a secret because i was wearing an Arasaka combat vest and was somewhat camouflaged in uniform. So i changed into the most ridiculous clothes I had on and still - No one noticed me or cared.

The level prop design was bizarre as well. Loads of random items like food and coffee all over the place which did not feel like they belong.

So I finish the mission by walking past another guard and install the virus or whatever literally infront of him and then on my radio while ONE METER AWAY from the guard tell Takemura i have INFILTRATED THE FACILITY AND LOADED THE VIRUS. Cool :steamfacepalm:

Finally I escape by climbing out of the roof which has randomly opened up... again no one cares and then to finish i run down a platform (following the game path) to a door which is locked and a dead end. So i have to backtrack and find my own way out.

What the hell? No stealth, no combat? it seemed so broken and immersion breaking.

Please tell me I was bugged and was meant to be seen as hostile. Otherwise this mission was atrocious.

Edit: I now after returning to the complex after I finished the mission. Everyone is still a friendly and the game wont let me shoot anyone. Even tried throwing a grenade and that didn't work.

Pretty sure you encountered a bug, and I think I can guess what went wrong. The guards are supposed to treat you as a nonhostile for as long as you are inside the van. That way, you can position the van before you get out and proceed with the sneaky-sneak.

My guess is that when you got out of the van, the hostile/nonhostile flag failed to trip, so the AI never went back to treating you as a threat.

Definitely bugged. Just finished the mission a few days ago.

Oh good, that makes me feel a bit better. Shame, it could have been a great mission to ace with a stealth build.

Yeah that's bugged. It was a stealth mission for me. The guards *definitely* didn't appreciate me being there.

Definitely bugged? So how should it be when not bugged? Please, add some substance to your non-answer.

How did you enter the facility? Was it via the van or another way?

What you expect?
It's stealth mission.

I sneaked around hacked all cameras to friendly, accidentally went to tunnels under the base, apparently that's another route in.

Backtracked, sneaked some more, hacked some more cameras shot guards with silenced rifle... shot too many guards, they found bodies got noticed, ♥♥♥♥ hit the fan.

Nothing in your comment explains to what I actually asked. Either your answer has missing details by accident or then you are and idiot acting all high and mighty when lowly peasant like me dares to ask a legitimate question.

Judging by the used language, I can't decide which is it? If the former one, you should add how did you actually infiltrated the base. And if it was not using the car, your answer is entirely irrelevant.

Yes, I had the same experience and it really bugged me (pun not intended). Super freaking annoying.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I had the exact same experience. It's bugged.

Then again, there is no prompt in the follow-up mission that you can actually save Takemura when everything else in the game is practically spelled out for you. Kind of blindsided me, I would have liked to still ahve him in the game.

On that mission, when you do the surveillance prior, it says the generator can be used to climb the wall, is anyone able to do that? I've tried a few times, and it's not high enough to actually allow you to climb over the wall/gate.

Only ways I've managed were to stealth across the bridge, which was pretty fun, and use other buildings outside the main area and move across to the Warehouse roof then drop down behind all the guards.

It's stealth mission. When not bugged enemies work normally, like in any stealth mission.
What else do you want to know?

I entered by jumping over a wall using the leg cybernetics that allow for double jumping. Security was pretty tight and it was actually a bit of a challenge to not get spotted. So this definitely sounds like a bug.

Yeah they're definitely supposed to be on alert for you. I stole one of the vans, knocked out one of the guards. Then tried to quickhack the mech to death but it spotted me. Took out my high powered sniper rifle and killed it and everyone around.

It is bugged. The guards remain green if you drive inside in a van and they COMPLETELY ignore you. Even when you trespass all over the place.

Similar things happen in other places with green gang members on spots you need to clear out. (Mostly in badlands)
