Monowire for stealth?
I was hoping it would stealth kill from range or up close but it seems only to be a hack and slash mod. Is there a way to ghost run with this mod or is it mainly used for non stealth weaponry?

So Cool(Stealth) affects Monowire damage its very OP'ed close combat and you can an get EPIC one early in game from Viktor if you go for non-stealth better use Mantis Blades, but mixing stealth with hacking is the most lootable/profitable way, also Monowire is useful when gaining athletics bonuses on single groups of low tier enemies, besides swimming and running everywhere.

Monowires are cool stealth utilities because they kill silently and let you smuggle a lethal weapon into places where you might otherwise be searched.

But of course none of that matters in this game so lol.

Yup,it just works as a good close combat melee weapon against a single or groups of enemies, especially cyber psychos.

In theory on paper? Yes.

In game terms and mechanics? No - Also why would you need it, since you can grab anyone from behind and instantly kill them.
when i use the monowire it always alerts all enemies, will this happen even with a one shot?

Yes... that's what I'm saying. Monowire doesn't work for stealth - And even if it did, it wouldn't be useful.

Also since the latest patch fire is no longer considered lethal damage, so I put a silencer on Fenrir and use that for quickly and non-fatally putting down mobs if I happen to get spotted.

It works wonders on cyber psychos,as for stealth its damage is directly tied to the amount you invest in Cool, basically if you dont mind sneaking around hacking/taking em out quietly and then crit shooting with a silencer its a good choice, but stealth is useless without hacking and that requires int lots of it.Crafting you need like maybe 4 points max in it since its basically only needed to dismantle items for parts so they don't clog up your inventory that leaves Body and Reflexes, body makes sure you are not one shot each time and reflexes affect close combat and guns.I always go for lethal routes even with stealth unless the game forces me to use non-lethal Dishonored 1 and 2.Also against gangs its either mono-wire or katana chop chop.

Well in terms of game mechanics You can't grab and kill everyone, just almost everyone. I think it is based on body or something. the skull above their head means you have to kill them 'normally'.

It is foreseeable that you would have a really high cool and reflex with a super-low body, because you be a ninja.

I agree with the OP. If only because it would be neat. I remember playing a tabletop RP Cyberpunk game where my character was based on 47. The monowire was my garrote. Would love to do that in 2077...

The skull above their head means they are of a significantly higher level than you. Get more levels and they won't be a skull anymore.

There is a monowire mod that makes it do chemical damage ( which can poison enemies) and a stealth perk that increases poison damage by 200%. Ninjitsu also increases damage massively from stealth. Head shot damage perks are also VERY useful. (Yes head shots with melee matter as well)

Monowire working as a blunt weapon and scales from cool and hand to hand skills. Soooo i dont think its a best choice for ghost run. Plus you need to put some mods to get a decent damage even on legendary monowire.

Well that is just weird then, but the point is still valid. It is not everyone, just almost everyone.

But your 2nd argument proves how mw and stealth don't mix. It alerts everyone to your presence. So yeah sure that 1 dude goes down fast but everyone knows your there, not exactly a stealth kill.

I know this post is older - but ... although Monowire alerts the enemy, they do not know who or where you are. A good Ghost (Monowire) build will also include Intelligence along with Body/Cool, so you can keep them guessing and continue sneaking.

As to getting the stealth completion on a gig? YES! Even if the enemies are flashing red, you will get the stealth bonus as long as they do not actually see your face or engage with you (remember Viktor's comment about your Kiroshi? Your face is a blur, your body is not...). So. stealth in, use your quickhacks (Ping and mark them definitely, reduce resistances), one shot from the shadows, get what you need, and just slip on out.

Add the fact you can get legendary Monowire arms for free almost immediately (to buy them takes 45 Street Cred), you can slice their heads/limbs off (yes non-gun head shot perks like Frozen Precision work with Monowire).

I am fairly sure I got these before Act 2 (when the associated quest at the pharmacy shows up) because I remember walking on into Konpeki Plaza and whipping my way out. But I definitely have it at the beginning of Act 2 before meeting Takemura.

I believe it was free to install and there were also other goodies in the garage along with 2000?+ eddies. You can go in from the back and sneak past one? goon (reboot optics or he wanders), no skill check on the garage, walk away with the toy.

Only thing you ever need to do is upgrade your hacking abilities, the poison hack is most op thing in the game pretty much.

I find those hacks a little boring if it kills everyone. I'd rather fight at least.
