So about NetWatch (and the Voodoo Boys)
Currently doing the Voodoo Boys/NetWatch quest, not sure who to side with tbh. From what I've gathered from the lore so far is that NetWatch is kinda independent and trying to keep the net "safe", but are they the good choice here or should I side with the VB? I mean, at least the NetWatch guy is telling the truth, while Placide is a backstabbing bastard who tried to kill V, but what about the big picture?

only big different I saw was siding with net watch will cause you to have another battle, you could have avoided by going the other way.

The voodoo clan had something to do with another evil thing you may realize later on, but it happened before your siding with net watch would have done any good. So it made not real difference.

EDIT >>not saying there is not a difference some where, but I never saw it.

The really funny thing is that Pacifica, CA is a real place IRL, located almost exactly where it is in the game. The IRL Pacifica is a sleepy little fogged over surfer town and the city motto is literally "Pacifica; a pretty cool place." XD

That's a pretty cool deet xD

No, I was asking for LORE ffs. Use your brain and understand what I wrote.

not much info on them except for what i've mentioned, they're anti-rogue ai and voodoo boys are pro-rogue ai.

Cheers, fam.
I prefer offing them both.

They're not independent, they have close ties with corps. They're as corpo as Arasaka.

Voodoo Boys goals seem as silly as johnny silverhands, they serve no purpose outside wreaking havoc grounded on the belief that it will actually bring good....or something. You understand that not a lot of good comes from it when you let Alt take care of Arasaka from beyond the blackwall, everyone just gets wiped, from soldiers, to civilians, maybe cats and dogs too, who the heck knows.
If you'd been paying attention, you'd know Cats and Dogs are both nearly extinct in CP2077...

NetWatch are the analogue of Turing Police in William Gibson's Sprawl Trilogy. As far as I understand, they are an international organization with local departments, intended to police the Net.

Looking at it objectively they might be considered the Good Guys because of their important and vital role in controlling online activity. However, it's more than suggested that NetWatch is an "ends justifies the means" type organization. They wield a lot of power and are known to use (illegal) Black Ice programs.

In a setting like Cyberpunk, it's pretty much a given that absolute power corrupts absolutely and hence it's natural to assume that NetWatch is involved in political manipulation and other forms of corrupted activity on some level, internal power struggles, etc. etc.
but there is no choices in this game, are you sure about it? it's not even RPG, they removed it from twitter, how so...lol

The difference is loot after boss battle
Choosing NetWatch = combat later
Choosing VoodooBoyz = no combat later

I went with VoodooBoyz and punched Placide in the face or whatever his name was.
I'm not entirely sure. If you side with the Voodoo Boys first it could be that you encounter less NetWatch agents roaming in the streets as a visible difference of your actions. Maybe none. You'll see why. Gameplaywise both options are totally equal. You either fight first or fight later. If you kill everybody going into the hotel you might as well side with the voodoo boys. NetWatch will allow you out of the hotel without incident if you stealth your way to the agent and side with him. It can be a bit tricky though. Neither side is worth saving or will give you quests later and you may well decide to just go against both like someone suggested. There will be subtle differences in dialog. I know one mention of NetWatch near the end of the game that will likely change if you don't trust the agent.
