Spoilers: Non-Lethal vs Lethal
In Watson there is a mission in Northernside involving saving a monk, and depending on how you do it, the monk you save reacts differently.

so far I have tried:
- No-lethal hand2hand takedowns
- Pax Mod on rifle
- Melee Blunt Object
-Quickhacks: Contagion,overheat,restart system

and only the 2 quickhacks "Overheat" and "restart system" has gotten a "non-lethal" response from the monk, while takedown, pax, contagion and melee has all gotten the "lethal" response.

so only Overheat and Restart system is categorized as "non-lethal".

both fists and melee blunt weapons can kill. same kinda goes for rifles if you attack already a ko body.
best way to go non-lethal is optics mod that makes every weapon non-lethal.
and yes thus far for me, shock fire and poison were sure way to take down without killing. and "reset settings" but that's single target quickhack

Which is funny, because later side gig ( specifically the one at the Militech Desert Fort ) System restart is considered lethal.

Non-lethality is less standardized than you may be lead to believe

What's even more hilarious is that Overheat basically sets them on fire. Apparently burning to death doesn't kill you in Cyberpunk.

You can do it with non-lethal takedowns, but you have to be very careful where you put the bodies. If you try to move a body after a takedown and it doesn't have a clear place to fall it will get shoved down HARD someplace close by, and will kill the sleeping person. So make sure there is a LOT of room around any bodies you are setting down.

Took them all down with non-lethal takedowns from stealth and it worked just fine. Did other mission which required no casaulties, just shot everyone while having optical implant mod that makes every weapon non-lethal and worked too. Same with the cyberpsychos.

Heavy metal poisoning is a joke by CP2077 standards as well. Surprised the universe isn't filled with mad hatters and freddy kreugers.

With cyberpsychosis, maybe it is? :P

Dang

Only overheat and restart

Short circuit is non-lethal and is very effective plus requires less ram.

The short circuit dot might not be tho.

most things say whether they are lethal or non-lethal, with detonate grenade being a hilarious outlier because it entirely depends on what grenade the enemies are carrying -- trying to get the achievement to kill/incapacitate three enemies with one detonate grenade is incredibly annoying when you only find enemies with flashbangs or fire grenades.

the most surefire way to make sure an enemy survives is having them on flat, level ground away from any drops, then hitting them with overheat + contagion + short circuit, or just using system reset. a tricked out ashura with pax also works pretty much 100% of the time, and you can start seeing ridiculously high crits the later you get into the game (around 40 i was nailing things for 100k headshots, at 50 200k) -- just make sure it isn't physical/doesn't have a bleed proc. as far as i can tell, accidental deaths only really happen when a weapon has a bleed proc on it (rendering most high rarity blunt weapons borderline useless, since they'll sometimes kill targets with that). it's also possible to kill someone by just overfiring on them, but by the same token, my decidedly lethal smartgun assault rifle will leave people alive sometimes so who the hell knows.

one good non-lethal method I found , was the hand projectile with the tranquilizer rocket, Knocks them out , but doesn't kill them and downs even the toughest enemies with one shot

I used non-lethal take down and they had a cry i killed people.

Arm missile launcher and tranquillizer rounds, best option.

This is exactly my experience. Non-lethal takedowns have always worked for me, but moving the body can kill the person depending on where I put it. I've noticed dropping a body while moving has this happen more frequently.
