Yes grenades and projectile arm both use same key, so does a blood pump if you get it. However your only unequipped, not uninstalled. In your inventory menu, where you equip your grenades, you should be able to go right back to projectile as well.
I certainly am having no issue forcing me to go back to ripperdocs.
THe fact that other Cyberware doesn't get uninstalled the same way clearly shows it's a bug.
Well it shouldn't either. As pointed out, having no issue with it myself. I equip a grenade, I can still swap out that grenade for projectile arm installed anywhere at anytime. Having a lot of fun on my nomad tech that uses it. Seeing no difference between it and blood pump in that aspect.
Well it does seem to boost engineer some from my experience. I noticed some engineer xp come up on a few occasions. Can't say specifically if its from the launcher itself, or what happened to get blown up (car, or a nearby explodey object). Sorting out the aftermath is a mess sometimes.
The bigger issue is no perks or attributes boosting them themselves. It would be nice in my opinion if due to the fact that the launcher is used in place of grenades, that it also saw benefit from things that boost your grenades. At the very least, that would make blowing oneself up with it, less problematic.
