Best arm cyberware?
Played most of my time with Mantis Blades, but went back to try some of the other arms just for kicks. Honestly, Gorilla arms seems to be the only other decent choice?

Mantis Blades - Scales with Reflex, does good damage, has perks, slow compared to katana.
Gorilla Arms - Scales with Strength, has relevant perks, absolutely necessary for Beat on the Brat missions.
Launcher - Fun boom boom, hits in an area, but very low damage. Doesn't seem to have perks or a relevant attribute?
Monowire - Incredibly weak. I guess it's supposed to one hit kill if you let it charge, but a strong attack with mantis/gorilla is just as deadly.

saved my game and tried all arm mods besides monowire out, found them to be lackluster to be honest, since i play stealth build they arent usefull to me and they just make my hands ugly...

if the gorilla arms worked as intended i would use them to rip open doors, but that function is either bugged or removed from the game, because only body skill determines if you can rip a door open or not, i had gorilla arms equipped and it still told me 3/6 to force the door open.

have to farm more money so i can try out monowire arms and see if they suit my playstyle, if not im just not installing any arm mods ever.
Haven't tried monowire yet but the description says that the less often you use it the more damage it does. Sounds perfect for stealth.

That is correct. The monowire has a yellow glow that fades out on consecutive hits.

It turns out running around with a katana and chopping heads off also counts as stealth, even if it's 3 people looking at each other, as long as you are fast enough. Works with cameras too.

There is a free legendary monowire in the game without having to purchase, also with the legendary battery mod and monowire element raw, the monowire can kill multiple people before you even start seeing a drop in power. Lastly the monowire can hack directly into enemy's head port without having to hack remotely.
It CAN?! I thought they cut that feature

I hope at some point they patch in third person perspective because first person melee is really awkward. It's even worse in this game because you seem to be able to run through enemies instead of stopping when you bump into them. That said, I did do brawling exclusively until I maxed it (it takes a really long time, I hit level 50 before I maxed it) and afterwards I swapped out my Gorilla Arms for Mantis blades so I could pick up some more perk points.

There is, apparently, a mod being worked on for third person. Watch this space as they say........

Can they hit you during the animation with the mantis blades?

they can hit and kill you while you are stuck in the animation.
as I said, this happened to me twice already and was the reason why I stopped using mantis blades.

/edit: at one time I had a bug while I was doing the animation as time was slowed down. what happened then is that I was stuck doing the entire animation in slow motion while all the enemies around me were already at normal speed again and happily attacking me lol.
I read that you can put a mod on the mantis blades to make them nonlethal that will disable the kill animation.

There's eye mod that turns all attacks nonlethal, that might do the job.
Very useful against cyberpsychos btw.

I like to keep my meatbag arms this time.

launcher since it destroys cars in 2 hits usually, infinite ammo, no drawbacks...
Don Costro 24 DIC 2020 a las 5:36 p. m.
They're all pretty weak compared to regular weapons, so I guess it just comes down to the "cool" factor.

Gorilla arms are the only ones useful and only for the brawling questline.

IN MY EXPERIENCE
I max perked reflex blades tree to test out Katana vs Mantis Blade.
Satori Katana crit build did better no contest. I'm no expert of course. But Katanas allow for mod slots which add that little extra boost. The attacks feel quicker, I can run fast with speed perks (Body, Reflex?, Cool) so it's faster to run up and slash with Katana than use the useless (in my opinion) Mantis Blade animation that can lock you in place.
With the crit builds, I was able to 1 shot the enemies I fought that were high level, while Mantis Blades needed multiple hits.
Just for funsies, I got infinite perk points to invest in the blades crit damage, and it let me obliterate the cop enemies, two hitting them, sometimes 1 shot, but always charge attack instant kill. With the same build, I tried Mantis Blades, and they did not perform as well.
You can upgrade Katanas, but Mantis Blades, you get Legendary and that's it.
Mabye base game Mantis Blades will do better, but with max gear i'd think Katanas do better in speed, damage, and control.
Mantis if your gear gets confiscated and you have no points in brawling.

I tried each of them, but I only really enjoyed Projectile Launcher and Gorilla Arms. Mantis were fun but not as efficient as Katanas from my build.
Gorilla Arms provided a nonlethal option (tranq rounds work too but can feel cheap sometimes) as well as an alternative when I had no gear. They look the most obvious in appearance, so they stand out. NPCs don't notice it but I mean if you want to look as human as possible, black knuckles stand out.

Monowire felt the worst out of all of them. Mabye there's a build for them, but they did the worst damage out of all of the weapons. Staggered well but eh. Katana could have finished them off faster, Knuckles felt more satisfying.

Projectile Launch System felt utility. You can have infinite ranged Electic, Incindiary, Explosive, Tranq, etc. Not sure how useful it is compared to grenades, but it was fun fighting, then blasting enemies without changing weapon.

Infinite perk points you say, my interest is peaked... How were you able to achieve this, nexus mods or cheat engine?

WeMod. Since the game has bugs, and Launcher system doesn't seem to be affected by grenades, I wanted to test it out before I invested in my real save file.
