All the romances (predictably) are painfully trite. I don't think I've ever once seen a romance or even a romantic interest worth a ♥♥♥♥ in a computer game in my whole life tbh. Some put in more effort, like obviously there's a big build up for both Triss and Yennefer in the Witcher games throughout compared to something like (lol) Skyrim, but it's always so painfully tacked on that I pretty much just do it out of obligation. What's worse is as you add these things in here, every forum scum has some kind of identity politics input about it - the characters all need to be pansexual, no, they need to have rigid standards like real people, no, you need characters of all identities anyway, what, no disabled characters, where are the blacks etc.

Sometimes I think back to that gay romance with Cortez in ME3 and the crappy doll-like bodies slapping together and just laugh and laugh. Truly the Bioware forums are masters of, er, intimacy.

It would be better if she wasn't the only romance option, really. Judy (apparently) dumps you at the end of the game even if you decide to sacrifice your "immortality" and spend your last six months with her and River is just River, only Panam has anything more than a sex scene attached to them, lol.
