Dismantled Iconic Weapon, regretting it, and it's not my fault
So the game states that iconic weapons are good to keep around and upgrade because they keep their value longer. I get it. I looked at a few of them I got while they were rare and I gotta say, yeah they're strong, and they're fun and yes they keep value.

At no point does it say that I need to keep the weapon around so I can upgrade it later. It's in the crafting menu. The game does such a piss poor job of explaining what I need to do craft the epic version that I'm now unable to craft any more iconic weapons because they're just gone. Why isn't the option to upgrade the item (Which is effectively what you're doing) in the upgrade menu?

There are some crazy fundamental things missing from this title and it's irritating.

They mention in the start that you can upgrade weapons so that the special one's you like will remain useful later in the game. When you get your first iconic weapon it tells you what you have just got and that you can level it up as you play. When you sell it the game asks if you're really sure you want to do that. (I guess I don't know if it does that when you dismantle one.) So yes the game does kinda tell you what you have and that you might want to keep it around.

If it took 50 hrs more game play to regret the decision I'll go out on a limb here and guess it wasn't your favorite weapon.

I will echo the idea that a feature to tag weapons as favorites, as well as marking things as junk, would be great. I wish I could lump junk weapons and cloths into the junk pile. Division does this and I think it was The Outer Worlds as well (and I'm sure others do too). It would be nice to mark things when comparing rather than trying to remember which one was the one I wanted to ditch.

I wouldn't worry about it too much OP, the game is EZ with white weapons even on very hard. Just make sure you pick the right perks for the playstyle and the weapon. Min-maxing isn't necessary at all, it's pretty much pointless.

Yeah my first iconic I scrapped on accident and didn't realize it. It doesn't prompt if you dismantle. Only if you sell it. Which is bad because if you sell it you can at least come back and buy it back later. Scrapping it kills it.
This game showers you with loot almost at any point you kill/zap something. Mostly with rares and epics that are way better than that iconic toy that became obsolete 10 levels ago and chugs recources to update like crazy. I wouldnt cry after those things, besides it gives some kind of replayability if you wanna complete game with certain weapon as your trusty companion.

Anyways to me it clearly asked if i wanted to scrap the iconics or not. Maybe its bug in the system that it sometimes doesnt.

You have the inventory space to lug around 69 HMG's on your back, plus a bottomless inventory space at home/car trunk. and somehow you dismantle a iconic weapon

It's tagged iconic.

The background is a golden hue.

The first time you pick up an iconic weapon it explains what it is and that it can be upgraded and that it might be a good idea to hold onto it.

Well you know what to do on second life path.

Btw. This isn't me judging you. This is a common problem in every RPG. There's always a few user choice problems that you can easily make a mistake with which can cost you in the long run if you weren't paying attention. RPG fans are well aware of this and learn to adjust.

Again. It doesn't say WHY SPECIFICALLY TO HOLD ONTO IT. You neanderthals. It doesn't make anything clear as to why. I'm left to sit and wonder why. And the only why is that we can use it longer than others and I thought they gave us the schematic so we could keep making a more current version along the way as a reward for even finding it. Jesus christ.

Except it does. From memory it freezes your game until you push a button confirmation that you've read it and covers your screen with a splash screen *explaining* that iconic weapons are unique and can be upgraded.

This is user error.

This is *your* fault.

I didn't accidently scrap anything I actually wanted to keep because I actually read the screen. You "neanderthal"

this guy feels seriously whiny, isn't he? 'Neanderthal'? Really? :D i have you know mr that neanderthals had bigger brain ♥♥♥♥ Sapiens, so it isn't really a negative slur, think about something more creative.

Seriously, who scraps items described as 'iconic' without checking it first? your own fault, nothing more, nothing less.

Because I can enjoy the game for what it is? Why don´t you go play something else? if you dislike the game, why play it? Do something that makes you happy and something you enjoy instead.......

Also.. you know a person has no counter to your argument, when their only counter is a low ball personal attack.

Put it into storage

I feel sorry for you because you are literally defending a company that rushed a game out before it was ready after promising they wouldn't. And then going and simply saying that because I made a decision based on limited or no information that I was 'not perceptive' instead of just agreeing that the system itself is not clearly outlined.

That's why.

Maybe it feel rushed to you. To me it seems pretty avarage in terms of "stability, performance, etc" for a game of this scope. Again I run this game with 60-80 FPS stable.

I would like to see a favorite feature where you select stuff that can't be sold or broken down or just have items equipped on a different screen altogether. The UI is so clunky.

Console gamers bringing us down to their level of clunk. It's like how Gloablism isn't really a race to the top,. it's a race to the bottom.

It says 'upgraded'. You can upgrade the item. It says nothing about it being required to CRAFT the epic version.

There are some crazy fundamental things missing from this title and it's irritating.
The real issue is that the whole crafting skill tree is a joke.
Some of those perks don't even work. The ones for a chance at a free upgrade sure doesn't.
I regret investing into it instead of something else.
It's entirely your fault, the game does tell you about this (I knew, because I paid attention).

However, yes, there should be something to help you not do so by accident. Either a system for favourite weapons, or a confirmation box on iconics, or inventory filters. Something.

This one actually did work for me at least twice. I went on a upgrade spree on a lower tier item and it did count two of them as costing nothing.

I dismantled one by accident; one of those too-common times you can't move because you are over weight.

It didn't give me any kind of warning, just poof. It does give warnings on selling, but not on dismantling, which should change.

Also, the way the cursor/items 'blink' then reappear is just beyond dumb, and the reason I dismantled it to begin with. I had like 50+ weapons in my inventory, hold Z on one to dismantle, the items blink and reappear, and instead of my cursor being on the next item, it shifted to the next row, which landed it on my iconic...
Deleted a few thing I wish I hadnt pressing Z & the weapons & description keep moving & switching around
