FIX is easy

1- game doesn't launch
why- it's not you ... it's the download

fix- check file integrity (no seriously the initial dl misses a file ....)

2- game crashes can barely get past character creation
why- the game thinks you are on DX12 but you are on DX11 hence the crash !

fix- browse local files go into BIN -> X64 , right click properties on cyberpunk.exe
check compatibility and select windows 7
(can also check run as admin can't hurt)

do note the game WILL have ocasional crashes (ever play kotor 1?) that is just the game !

if you have an older nvidia card starting from gtx 770 and you want to update the drivers you have to download from the nvidia website and instal just the drivers from that file
(geforce experience will download drivers but REFUSE to instal them)

Upgrade to windows 10, huge boost in fps and performance

I was like you, i like windows 7, however i brought a ryzen PC and i had issues with drivers. so i kinda had to upgrade.

just get windows 10 pro from microsoft put it on a USB stick.
google cd keys and go find a microsoft pro key for 5 dollars.
unplug your ethernet cable when you install so you dont have to sign into a windows live account.
after windows is install google, software: Shut up windows 10. It will disable all the ♥♥♥♥ and be like windows 7.

profit and get to use direct x 12 without crashes on this game.
my friend had the same problem with crashes on cyberpunk, installed windows 10 and hasnt crashed since.

Windows 7 is DEAD, OS doesnt have updates any longer it is EOL and out of any support. No wander there are issues.

Why are you still using Windows 7? You can upgrade to Windows 10 for free. Windows isn't supporting it anymore. So that means no more malware prevention.

You should also add the memory_pool_budgets.csv tweak, it helped with performance on my end with Windows 7 and a GTX 1060 3GB.

For those claiming that upgrading to Windows 10 will magically give you a performance boost, this is categorically false. There have been multiple artificial and practical benchmarks showing a slight decrease in performance in Win10 as compared to 7 due to the OS having increased overhead. UWP is also hot garbage.
