Whats the difference between knockout and kill during stealth?
I honestly don't see the reason other than having the roleplay method of being a non killer.
Is there any gameplay or even story relevance to this?

You actually can get paid more if you knock people out sometimes, especially if you're doing jobs for the police, who want the criminals brought in alive if it can be helped. Cyberpsycho jobs are another good example of this.

You can still shoot them (lethal) after they are unconscious and get even more xp/street cred

You cant stealth kill/KO cyberpsychos though.

Some jobs require non-lethal for completion/full rewards.

You don't even have to use non lethal weapons for that. When you drop their health to 0, as long as it's not a headshot the last hit knocks them to the ground. It's if you hit them again they die.

You can still use a non-lethal blunt weapon to KO instead of kill them. The fixer even says thanks for keeping them alive.

Some missions have fluff about not killing people. There's a side one with some monks that don't want you to kill anybody and they say thanks if you knock them out instead.

Don't throw those people into boxes because that kills them. Maybe the boxes eat them or something.

I've encountered maybe like 2 of these and they were only aimed towards one specific target and not the rest of the grunts.

Unless there's way more like these, kind of odd to add this mechanic for 2-3 instances.

But is there any point of killing when stealting, the knocked down enemies never come back up anyway?

Yeah I know, but im pretty sure OP is asking about the grab attack while stealthing, that whats the point in choosing kill instead of non lethal in those?

Non Lethal gives you more Street credits exp. Some side quest definitely gives you bonus if do this non-lethal approach and do some side objective specifically.

Having High lvl Street kids unlocks some cool stuff like lvl 20 Street credit unlocks gorilla hands, mantis blade and etc.

You can unlock powerful cyberware that slow time but totally much depends on your attribute and street credit.

I am lvl 21 just doing side quest and I already have lvl 35 Street credit.

Also the game gives you access to a cyberware that makes all your attack non-lethal even your grenades and blade weapon. If the side mission require you to kill the target just double tab if the target is unconscious.

the only time i did non lethal was the Cyberpsycho and i hit max street cred (50) a long time ago and i am now level 33, i truly think it does not matter to the game, you can see the rewards for kill people if you scan them, they tell you the reward for dead or alive is the game on gang take outs, i am not ever sure the game tracks kills vs knockouts

The blunt's are described as non lethal but half of the folks I knock down with them end up dead.
