Can you remove mods from Mantis blades?

I bought my first pair and installed thermal damage on them. But now I got a legendary set and I was wondering if I could remove the thermal damage from my OG pair.

I think it's only possible with a perk from crafting skill tree. It requires 14 tech or smth.
It allows you to retrieve the mods by scrapping an item

I tried that. thermal is still on my old pair. Im thinking I might have to get that crafting perk :/ It unlocks at 16 tech. Ugggh! Ive been levelling up everything pretty evenly being a jack of all trades. So its only 10 rn.

That explains where my mods for the Gorilla Arms went, I thought they were interchangable like the mods for basically every other augment you can use. Damn.

Well yeah you probably need the "Waste Not Want Not" perk to get your augments back, but that's an expensive thing to disassemble just for a mod. Guess just shop around between Ripperdocs until you find more mods for your blades, it's the only way.

Replace it back with the physical damage ones?

If you sold them then nope.
