I havent touched any of the default brightness/contrast etc settings in-game but i've never had to in other games either.
Considering the amount of bugs currently in the game I wouldn't be surprised if this gets addressed in a future patch lol.
I'm thankful the brightness isn't too bad on the Avenger, love driving around in that one.
Curious about this, gotta give it a try and see how things turn out : )
Edit: I went through the lengthy list of addons for the most popular Nexus ReShade "Automonomous ReShade", and wasn't able to tone down the brightness specifically for inside the vehicles with brightness issues. I could've missed something since I don't normally use any ReShade addons. Gonna leave it at this for anyone else that might find a solution or whenever the devs patch it.
in CP2077 case it mostly happen to the Car that have small windshield or covered in lots of armor. you can notice the brightness going down when you turn the camera to the closer side window.
not sure what can we do about it. or if there's a mod that let us adjust more Options than the game allow by default.
yup looks like a hdr problem, disable hdr in the game settings untill you find a way to fix it.

As soon as you turn the car and look through the sidewindow in the same direction it goes away:

Edit: well not go away completly but at least you can see something. What I find strange is in this situation there shouldn't be all that light since the road has something over it.
Your game sure looks weird.. is that low settings? high contrast ? odd lightling indeed. Never had this issue.
"Ray traced reflections should no longer seem too bright in comparison to the environment."
I use ray traced lighting, so this could fix it.
I've had this sometimes occur in first person when walking out from shade into sunlight but I guess it's intentional, a little, to simulate adjusting to light.
When driving in first person, though, it's completely awful.
I'm pretty sure this is a ray-tracing bug where the "adjust your eyes" + ray tracing + limited FOV when driving and other ways the game's engine handles driving are all combining and building on each other exponentially to create a nearly completely white screen.
Only fix I know of for now is to change the camera to 3rd person for driving for now until they fix it.
the Bright Ray traced reflections are also still there. ( like when you enter Dex car and see his super-bright eyes and sunglasses.
After patch 1.05 everything is so bright even at night time, neon lights and particles effects especially the relic malfunction effects are specially hard to look at causing me eye strain and nausea.
I tweaked my monitor brightness and contrast, fiddled with in-game gamma after the patch but my settings remain on the low end yet still, same burn-my-eyes-off brightness.
EDIT: I played it just now, the roads are either reflective or too bright even at night. Yeah, gonna have to shelf this game to save my eyes.
