Game is way too bright, any way to change this?
I'm driving at the moment and I realized that the game is so bright during the day that I can hardly see the road. Is there a specific graphics setting I can change to make this stop? (Edit: This happens only in first person driving, which is strange. The game seems to think I'm indoors)

That doesn't sound right. Did you adjust the gamma in graphics options?

Now that I think about it, I'm in first person driving and this happens, but in 3rd person it's fine. The thing is, the game looks fine, but if I drive in first person all of a sudden the lighting changes like crazy and the roads are extremely bright. It reminds me of the Skyrim effect where the contrast changes as if your eyes are adjusting, if you're familiar with that.

Yeah I know the one you mean. It sounds like it might be some issue with shaders or something, maybe on the windshield of vehicles? I haven't experienced it myself as I always use exterior cam, can't see ♥♥♥♥ from inside anyway.

i assume it's like Cheap Digital camera that trying to balance the image brightness. Since when you're in First-person view in the car it's mostly pretty dark so the camera crank up brightness so you can see what's inside the car. the result is a Super bright windows.

i think this would not be a problem on HDR monitor.

Yeah it's super annoying. I honestly hate that this is a thing in games, and it's stupid specifically in my case with sitting in cockpit view. Kinda' defeats the purpose of being in first person.

Not very bright here.. most like you do as many new age gamers do, you put your contrast on your screen why to high and sit in a dark room... If that is correct, then you should lid up your room/office/whatever or atleast put a light source behind the screen.

You can change contrast ingame as well if you want to ofc.

I always leave contrast on default. Not the issue.

Then your contrast on your monitor is most likely to high. Turn it down.

Nah it's definitely not the contrast values. It's more of the specific effect that happens when you come from indoor to outdoors like I mentioned earlier. Been thinking maybe you could alter something in the config file to manually turn it off.

I have this problem as well, but only when aiming a gun, particularly outdoors. I don't even have to be facing the sun either.. The entire scope just becomes a completely white circle. The quite helpfully white aiming reticle is entirely invisible, and the guy I'm aiming at is barely visible.

I've tried a variety of settings, including disabling lens flares, and nothing helped. It's definitely not my monitor settings, as my monitor works perfectly fine in every other game.. and in every other respect in this game as well.

I have no issue, but I have heard people complain about realistic lightning (ie when it goes really dark) mainly as I said, because some gamers play with much to high contrast and rather "see" stuff ie in MP games, than actually have the proper contrast or colours for that matter.

Yeah I've seen people like that too. OP's issue isn't the same though, think it's just you dude.

Not sure if it will help, but there are ton of Reshade mods on the nexus already. Maybe one of them might help with your issue as most of them require you to turn off graphics features so it can be turned on in Reshade.
