The biggest complaint I have is the lack of more mundane in game activities that are disconnected to the quest system.
For example, there are no thief mechanics. You can take anything you want. Most of the buildings have a specific purpose if you are allowed to access them, so you can't spend a couple of hours breaking into non-quest related buildings and stealing everything in sight on a crime spree, or something like that. The crime system is very weak, and the police are super dumb. You can run someone over and drive about 3 blocks and the police indicator will disappear. I think so much time was spent on the graphics and world building, that some of the systems did not get the time, love and attention needed to create a more immersive experience. Also, you don't really make any meaningful choices. Skyrim had the same issue though, so I don't get too upset about it. Honestly, meaningful choices in games is pretty much the most consistently overpromised/underdelivered feature in RPGS. There is a limit to how many scenarios programmers can account for. They still could have done a better job here.
That said, the quests are fun, the dialogue/story is really good, especially if you like dystopian fiction. Gameplay is pretty good, though NPC AI needs work. Setting is near perfect, in my opinion. If you have a decent computer, its worth picking up. 8/10.
Umm you can kill people?
I dont like Skyrim lol.
I think we were spoiled with RDR2. That is a phenomenal game. I think a lot of people expected this to be a futuristic version of that game. And it obviously isn't anywhere near that level of quality.
sadly there are no fun mini games like yakuza titles
You can steal stuff. And craft new weapons - but you'll find better ones in 2 seconds anyway.
That's basically it. If you try to talk to people they tell you to ♥♥♥♥ off, cars dont work well, there are no minigames, you cant even sit somewhere to look at the scenery. And on PC you cant even walk since there is no button for it.
The side missions alone are btw. great. Would do them at least once, so that you know them.
Not great yeah. I did get bored of the RDR2 side activities pretty fast though. Hunting is fun in a pinch and after playing poker a dozen of times I was basically done with it.
