Gameplay feels outdated - Lack of impact
Anyone else feel like the gameplay in Cyberpunk 2077 is really outdated? Ignore the pretty graphics for a moment and actually look at the core gameplay.

Driving is supremely lacking in terms of feel. There is a lack of recoil, drifting, suspension, impact which makes it feel like something from the days of PS2; it is way too smooth. I am not exaggerating here because GTA V and Sleeping Dogs were both released on Xbox 360/PS3 and had much better mechanics. It is really disappointing that a game that is considered next gen (PS5) does not even meet the standards of the current generation.

I found the part where you're attacked by a van laughably bad. I mean your driver is going 20kmh per hour (what is that about? They are trying to kill you.). Anyway, the reason why I am bringing this up is after killing the driver, the van crashes and nothing happens. No explosion, no recoil; it literally drives into the building and stops dead. This is stuff that last appeared in these type of games back on the PS2.

The gunplay is also problematic. At times you can't even tell you're getting shot because of the lack of reaction from your character. Also, this lack of impact and reaction affects the enemies also. How can an opponent still shoot me when I am slashing them with Katana?

I feel these mechanics are things I expect to see in these type of games. Impact is severely lacking in Cyberpunk 2077 which makes it feel so outdated.

It is objective outdated. Basically all systems of the game. And many are simply not implemented. The most shocking for me personally was the total lack of proper AI; pedestrian, traffic, law enforcement.

I dig the game but it just feels like fallout with driving but I still like fallout better. I like it enough that I'll do as much in the game as possible though.

Gameplay feels too scripted i thought this would be a sandbox at least in the open world but everything feels like a script nothing random truly happens the npcs drive on a script, there is no minigames, AI is terrible. The only next gen thing about Cyberpunk is graphics and how amazing the city is designed and looks but its just for show.

You think a sophisticated company like cdpr are not aware of these short comings ? Its just they don't give a damn enough to fix it or make the game enjoyable. They are still going to make a billion thanks to the hype. They were after the money and they made it with or without decent gameplay mechanics and gunplay. They don't give a s* that much is clear.

I would say the story and climax is the strongest part of CP.
The rest is really mediocre or bad.
You pointed driving and shooting and I agree.

But also character customisation is really poor (very little heircuts, face augmentics, tatoos options). You can`t wear whatever you like unles you want to wear items that reduces your stats.
Then we have no piloting. No skimmers, flying cars. In cyberpunk game?
Open world that looks stunning but offers nothing for exploring.

Half baked.

Have to agree with customisation. I like customising characters, but I am not as into it as other people. But I could tell that it seemed very limited in terms of choice. What emphasises it more is when I went to play Mount and Blade Bannerlord, which is made by a small studio. Even that has managed to have more customisation options.
