No GPU Usage
Game isn't using my GPU at all and my CPU is doing all the work? Can't even run the game well at all low with an i7 6700k 4.0ghz, GTX 1070 and 16gb ram...

Games using all my stuff and I've got a worse CPU than you. You set up the game with your NVIDIA control panel?

unfortunately it still barely uses the GPU

Use HWMonitor or Afterburner to monitor not task manager.

ah apparently its using 100% on hwmonitor, yet still lagging

I have a GTX 1080 and run on a mix of medium/high AND low settings to what probably amounts to "medium" and it's pretty much maxed out alongside my CPU most of the time.

GPU usage is usually at 100% and CPU 60-85 percent, playing at 1440p downscaled to 1080p. CPU is old, i7 4770

1080p? You might wanna up that i7 to 4.8 or 4.9GHz all core.

my experience - it worked fine at launch, patch 2 turns off the GPU.. you will notice that some people are seeing non-GPU usage bug happening. in my case the GPU clock sat at idle 210mhz no matter what I set the game at, memory was at full speed. I got 2 FPS. the patch is totally hosed. and I messed for 2 hours scouring all sorts of fixes and nothing worked... if you are getting the NO GPU usage issue, you'll just have to wait for CDPR to do a new patch.

I have a RTX 3090 and was only getting 2 FPS @ 4K HDR Psycho level... prior to the patch I was getting a smooth 80 FPS.

Anyway, all the time trying to fix it I logged almost 2 hours of game time, which is the cutoff for refund... so I pulled my first refund request in 25 years. sorry to the Developers, but this game isn't ready yet.

This is serious right here. Was only set for 3GB VRAM and 1.5GB CPU RAM.

zap - that is a good find an improvement.. but that's not the NO GPU USAGE issue... the issue is a bug in the game that actually does NOT use your GPU and no way to force it to use your GPU, it will only use your CPU...

for others, there are two distinct issues... low GPU usage, where people see performance not maximized, 50-60% GPU usage, some higher, or un-optimized memory available.

and then there is the HARD ABSOLUTE ZERO GPU usage... very different.

Task manager shows 0% usage and Afterburner shows 85% at the same time for me. I trust Afterburner, this game would run on 0-1fps on CPU only, even if a high clock 32 or 64-core.

Exactly... 2 FPS for a RTX 3090
