Unable to quickhack: network security breached
I've been in this scenario a few times: I've been spotted once but enemies don't know where I am. I've used breach protocol to weaken enemies/lower RAM costs. Now when I try to quickhack all of my hacks cost more RAM and "network security breached" displays at the bottom of the screen. I'm sure the game explained this at one point, but I'm at a loss.

If I were to guess, it probably means you've already applied Breach Protocol to the network that enemy is attached to, meaning you no longer have to do it for that enemy.

Yeah, but I can't quickhack like synapses burnout because they require more RAM than their description says, regardless of enemy. I am still able to ping, distract, and use cameras though.

It changes based on the enemies defenses. The description is just the base amount. For whatever reason they don't explain this or I missed it but later on you'll run into enemies where the base cost of 4 can turn into a cost of 8 for example and I'm sure it goes higher because I have reduction abilities in place.

Oh. That makes sense. Next time it happens I'll look at their defenses to see. Sounds like I'm really going to have to pump up my intelligence to get as much RAM as possible.

Some enemies (when alerted) can't be hacked at all anymore...I have 16 max Ram and optics costs me 2 (reduced ram costs perk) but where I am when it comes to level, some go all the way up to that 16 if they don't disable the ability outright.... From a story/immersion perspective it makes sense though; they got alerted and just raise firewalls (like pulling your net plug when you think you get hacked).

So best to NOT get noticed until you absolutely have no other option available anymore

So, if I use an offensive quick hack that does damage they become alerted, which means I can expect to only use them once per encounter?
