That usually relates in many programs to UAC (user account control). Are you running Cyberpunks launcher and the game as an admin? Maybe that'll help.
yes, I run all files as admin
i wonder why this error appeared exactly after i start missions with Jackie ?!
If you use steam, the game will automatically update to latest version

It worked for me at least.
Tnx for link, I tried it, but it disabled my sound and other necessary services !
I did all he said and unfortunately not help
I really want to know how it helpful for you ? Cuz I do anything I can to fix this and still have this annoying error !
I still get the same error doing this. im amazed they havent even attempted a fix for this yet? i mean its a pretty major problem when a large portion of people who have bought the game cant even launch it.
Error reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.
File: <Unknown>(0)
which is happening when you press play from launcher my fix was:
lower the windows resolution. I had it standard to 2560x1440, the native resolution of my monitor. I lowered it to 1024x768, started the game and it finally worked!
After that I raised the solution in game to my normal resolution, quit, changed my windows resolution back to normal and it works all normal.
Hope that helps.
Hey, had the same problem and scrolled through tons of discussions, finally managed to make it past launcher.
Much appreciated
100 percent sure they don't care
tnx for ur comment, are u sure ? does crash disappear permanently ?
and would you tell me what should i do for my laptop ? its native resolution is 1920x1080.
Like others I read a lot of other threads in various forums and basically also did everything that was decribed in CDPR official response in here:
https://support.cdprojektred.com/en/cyberpunk/pc/sp-technical/issue/1568/the-game-is-not-launching-5
But nothing worked and nothing changed that specific error I had.
Then I found the solution in here:
https://forums.cdprojektred.com/index.php?threads/cyberpunk-2077-pc-crash-issues.11040656/page-80#post-12337883
there it said:

I finally managed to get it to launch for the first time. I was constantly getting the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005) error. It would flatline the moment I pressed play on GOG. What FINALLY helped was this:
Changed my resolution to a much lower than my native one (Windows 10, click right clik on your desktop, screen resolution, pick a low one that will make your icons super big and ugly)
I attempted to launch the game like this. It launched immediately
Changed the in-game resolution to my native one because it had the small one I picked a moment ago, and then I closed the game
Changed my desktop resolution back to my native one again (no more giant icons), then launched the game and it succesfully launched finally
NONE of the other solutions worked for me except for this. I hope it helps some of you<3
"
and that worked for me even though I have it from steam. So...yeah..I still think it's not a good solution and CDPR will eventually have to fix it, but as of now it runs stable in my case thanks to this workaround.
